Remove the split pin and castellated cap, loosen the hub nut which is a 30mm, remove the two bolts that hold the hub carrier onto the shock absorber, swivel that out of the way, at the same time, gentley remove your c.v joint from the hub, remove clips from the boot, cut old one off if need be, wipe away any excess grease, get someone to hold the driveshaft as you knock the back of the c.v joint with a soft hammer (copper, nylon, hide), the c.v joint will eventually relieve itself of the spring clip, should just pull off after that, give it all a good clean, check the splines, fit new boot onto shaft, fit the nut onto end of the c.v joint, just so the top sits flush with the shaft, slide the c.v joint onto the driveshaft till it meets the spring clip, make sure it is square before you tap it back over, you'll feel it click into place, fit clip or tie wrap to smaller end of boot, fill with grease, and be careful not to get any on the c.v joint or the boot where it mates to the c.v. slide over, fit clip, reverse the disassembly of the car. Job done Damien

It's the T series engine, so the head gasket isn't as prone as the K series. Thats where people tend to worry, over something that it isn't Damien

Something like a TD05 16G will do you fine for that kind of power. Damien

The wheel bearings can't be tightened up, all the pressure goes on the inner race, you'll have to fork out for new ones, but if you want, come over to mine and we can do it over here, got all the tools to do the job, got access to a press aswell, it's pretty easy, done it a few times already lol. The 106 club near me can't keep up in their little quiksilvers, there's only the gti that does lol, but comparing to more powerful cars, they will seem slow. The starlets are a great little car to start with, they may not be the best, but for what you get, they're great, on the way home from work I race my workmate in his 140bhp golf, he may have the advantage on straights, but corners I can leave him for dead. Which in all honestly, winds him up to high hell lol. And most cars are boring in standard form, unless you're paying silly money, it's little things that alter the characteristics, exhausts, air filters, they all make them that little bit faster Damien

Was I comparing it to a GT? Moving from a 106. It will be faster. And I will have a turbo'd starlet soon, i've owned turbo'd cars before, both my corsa's were running circa 300bhp, so I do know what power feels like:) And remember, it's not all about power, a well driven car will give a powerful car a good run for it's money. A n/a starlet is quick for what it is, considering the engine size and weight. But it's expected to get those kind of comments from you being a turbo owner:) Damien

Lol, you'll love starlets, you won't be driving it slow for long, they're flying machines. Are you keen on the look of an SR? Or do you fancy something different? Damien

You'll find it's cheaper in some cases to turbo it, not the same with all cars though. Damien

Aim for an Sr, but if something pretty good comes up in the mean time, go for it:) Damien

It's each to their own matey, I prefer the ep91's, suppose it's the round clear shape that does it for me, I do like the look of GT's, but not keen on the aggressive look. But then again, I love some retro cars, I love nova's lol, I could go on for age with a list of old cars I love. Damien

Idea behind the SR is there's pretty much nothing that needs doing to them, they're a well sorted car from standard, and just remember, us SR owners have a rev counter, so NERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Damien
