  1. Thanks Geo, no your completely right. With demo no2 we managed 200@ fly with our TT hybrid units, TT manifold, TT actuator and TT here the thread, demo 1 will be ready hopefully Aug: Yesterday we finally had a chance to setup and dyno our run around Starlet, AKA demo car 2. As many will know this car was built to show you all what could be achieved with a realistic budget. Our main demo car is at the other end of the spectrum and will show you what can be achieved at the top end of the scale. Demo no2 has the following engine specification: Toy Tuning CT9 Hybrid Turbo @ 14psi Toy Tuning CT9 Manifold Normal Coating Toy Tuning CT9 Adjustable Actuator Magnecore 8.5mm Leads NGK Grade 8 Plugs Emanage Sard FPR Full KIt Walbro 255 Pump Autobahn FMIC Relocated Filter to Front Bumper That is it, nothing crazy just a vert simple setup well within reach for most customers. Rolling Road Results @ 1 bar she made 200.5 BHP at the flywheel, 170.2 BHP at the wheels and 189 ft/lb or torque with no exhaust! Overall really happy with the results considering it's only a wee little CT9! Going to have a few more tweeks, maybe run a little more boost and re-fit the exhaust. We tried running without one but due to the angle of the decat it actualy restricted the flow at high RPM which lost us all the torque after 5000RPM, hoping for around a 10bhp increase with one fitted and constant torque of circa 190 lb/ft. Will refit the exhaust and get her re-dynoed in a few days, will see if we can crack 210 BHP with 1 bar of boost Enjoy: Rolling Road Video (excuse the sound not sure what happened!) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcxwZLCQksw Gentle demonstration of power delivery/torque, chassis and brakes - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qlyfW6lm70 NB - That's with Toyo 888 Semi Slicks in Soft Compound! A big thanks to Ed @ Fusion Motorsport (www.fusion-motorsport.co.uk) for mapping the car and to Charlie @ Surrey Rolling Road (www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk) for putting up with all the exhaust fumes from having no exhaust Thanks, T
  2. I love your car Mark, am not jealous of that rear GT wing at all Good luck at the ring look forward to seeing what she can do great project really is. What HP is this running now? I have a close friend at Slyfield Ind Est and the car was there today! Speak soon, Toby
  3. We certainly hope so!! Going to be running 225/50 for the street and 275/35 for the track will certainly be fun! Nice Glanza by the way T
  4. Rick is totally right, Starlets never came with ARB's as they have unindependant rear axles unlike something like a EK9 which is. These are not the greatest designs for handling and chassis stability but they are cheaper to produce, the Starlet was never intended to be an all out racer but with some time and good thinking you can turn it into one! The WL and your rear ARB's bolt over the rear axle, you have to drill the top chassis beams to fit the bar but it's really not hard nor daunting, the mounting points are small. The most important factor is making sure they are perfectly aligned. The fixed ones are nice and easy, the adjustable ones are ideal for the track day enthusiasts out there who want to perfect there setup for each run. Front wise stick with a 22mm, we find the 24mm promote to much understeer on the track but each person will have different preferences. Either way ace mod! Thanks, Toby
  5. Hey Nick, Of course we would say this but ours are honestly just as good, they were based on them in the first place and we have loads of people using them trouble free check out the Group Buy on TGTT for feedback We also sell the HKS one so am easy either way but it just means you can save a few pennies! Any questions let us know. Thanks, Toby
  6. Hi all, Well it's been a long long wait but are demo no1 wheels are finally here! These have taken over 9 months and are custom made in the states. They use these in the Miata Cup Series over in the USA, each wheel is balanced within 0.005 grams offering near perfect weight distribution. They are 15inch by 9inch, very very wide! They also retain the stock offset. These will give us a much wider track and will be utilised with 25mm hubcentric spacers. We can fit 275/35/15 full slick tires onto these ideal for time attack As some will know these wheels have prevented us from completing the main demo car. Without these we have been unable to make the arches needed to fit them. Now they are here the car is going off to the painters so fingers corssed she should be ready by early August! Anyhow hope you like the pictures and we look forward to posting the full write up! Nearly there! Thanks, Toby
  7. No that's expected with aircon no worries there! If you let the engine warm with no lights/heaters/electrical drain what RPM do you see? You can raise using the idle screw but if it returns to 400 then I would say the problem was elsewhere, otherwise it could have been altered at some point. Has it always done this or only recent? T
  8. Did you buy the diff from new and was it worn in using the figure of 8 method? In general LSD's can be noisy dependant on type but most buyers never ware then in which means they get really bad. As far as oil type use what the manufacture of the LSD recommends not what a random company recommends. The manufacture will know best T
  9. I would agree on the above you get what you pay for. Some of the hybrids out there are worryingly cheap so please be cautious when buying parts. So many go for the bargains and end up paying twice in the long run when it fails, trust me I have been there and done that! We squeezed 200hp from our units at 1 bar which isn't bad at all. Enzo's units look to be good as well, never seen a Tong Turbo and Speed Visions products speak for themselves As mentioned you pay peanuts you get monkeys, if it's too good to be true then it probably is! Tobs
  10. 28psi - 32psi should be enough for Proxes, if you plan to get 888 then you can go lower but the original proxe side wall is quite soft so you don't want to go too low unlike the semi slick cousins.. T
  11. It's already been done let me find the link for you. This is for people who want the original hard copy.. T
  12. You only need a turbo timer is you don't want to sit in the car and wait for the turbo to cool down. If you don't let the oil cool down the turbo can fracture with the heat stress, just needs a few minutes. Or is you calm down for the last 5 mins of driving then you won't even need to wait. We use Sigma on all our imports, good quality, not fancy and does the job. We used to have Cliffords but they caused us nothing but headaches!
  13. Yeah no worries just take you time with everything it will slowly get there, you don't need everything but it just highlights the most important areas to look at without naming manufactures, that's up to you! Look forward to hearing from you.. Toby
  14. As above 3G, 1144 and some braided lines will be more than enough for fast road and the occasional track day. Stock disks and pads on the rear is also fine they have a very minimal rear bias like most FWD cars. You can always chuck in a BMCS for good measure if needed as these will really improve the pedal feel but apart from that you shouldn't need much more, also make sure you bleed the system thoroughly and use Toyota DOT 5.1 T
  15. Not you Rick the guys with stockish cars you need to run a high idle in order to move we run 2000RPM on idle For the others that are not purposefully running a high idle then make sure your throttle body is nice and clean, if you plan to adjust the idle using the screw then make sure the car is warm and the throttle postion sensor is dis-connected, if you adjust it with the TPS it will be unstable again. T
  16. Here is what we recommend to most of our customers looking for around a 200hp setup with brakes and chassis to match, you don't need everything below but it will certainly give you a good idea on where to go: â?¢ Hybrid CT9 â?¢ Free Flow Mild Steel Manifold â?¢ Decat â?¢ Cat Back system 2.5inch The car is now expelling gases more efficiently. â?¢ Relocated Air Filter to front bumper â?¢ Heat Reflective tape for Inlet Track Car is now breathing more efficiently â?¢ Raise the Rear of the Bonnet with washers â?¢ Front Mounted Intercooler (wrap throttle body side pipes with heat reflective material) â?¢ Uprated Thermostat â?¢ Rad Cap â?¢ Consider better radiator and breather/header tank if planning on track days Car is now cooling more efficiently â?¢ New Spark Plugs (consider colder grades) â?¢ New HT leads â?¢ Inspect Dizzy/Rotor Ignition system now works â?¢ Uprated Fuel Pump â?¢ Fuel Pressure Regulator Kit â?¢ Engine Management/Piggy Back/Fuel Controller (depends how far you want to go) â?¢ Rolling Road Session Car now fuelling adequately â?¢ Uprated clutch with flywheel is poss â?¢ Quickshift Kit â?¢ LSD if poss Car can now handle power and you can shift quicker rather than stirring soup. This should net you around 180bhp - 200bhp on 18 psi max. This then leaves the brakes and chassis which will need to be sorted to cope with the power. I would recommend at a min: â?¢ Uprated Front Disks â?¢ Uprated Pads â?¢ New OEM Rear Pads â?¢ Braided Brake Lines â?¢ Cusco BMCS â?¢ Dot 5.1 Toyota Fluid (bleed dry and refill) You can now stop! â?¢ Coilovers / Fixed height shocks with springs â?¢ Front and Rear Strut Braces â?¢ Panhard Rod â?¢ Lower Arm Bar â?¢ Anitlift kit â?¢ Check and replace worn bushes â?¢ Good tires Power to ground greatly improved. Thatâ??s a basic list of what we recommend, obviously there are many more parts that will net you a good handling car that can stop with power to match but that should give you a good idea on where to take her pending needs. If you need any help let us know. Thanks, T
  17. Yeah or for track work, let us know what the car will be used for then we can get a better understanding of what you need, we are about to strat a Group Buy on 3G 10GR disks, 1144 pads and Toy Tuning braided lines T
  18. When you alter the idle screw you also effect the base timing, if it's really low or really high then I would say you were only masking the problem. Is your idle effected badly by your lights/heaters or anything else that uses electrical power or is is stable regardless? T
  19. What will your car mainly be used for and do you have an idea on budget? We sell our own 4 pot kits for the front and have 2 pots coming out shortly for the rear. Other than that there is the 3G range which most go for, Mintex 1144 work well with these but again depends what you are looking for. We also sell stock OEM replacements if needed. Have a look in our brake section and if you need any help don't hesiaet to ask: http://www.toytuning.com/onlineshop/brakes Thanks, Toby
