  2. I'm in the same boat as yourself, MOT is up and after it comes out of ECC the exhaust will be out the upper side of the wing
  3. She'll pass emmisions fine with the larger turbo, she's using the same amount of fuel as a ct9 to idle. However if your idle is mapped richer than it should be then there can be issues. Stick a bung in the exhaust to quiet it down.
  4. It's stupid fast but I only pooter around in it on the roads, death trap really if I'm honest but on the Drag strip its a whole different matter
  5. A wee GT, doesn't look like much lol, here's last years dyno, there's a different turbo going on for the start of the season in March, chasing 500hp this year. The lower figures are without nitrous, upper with the gas.
  6. Aye if your ever over, especially on a race day I'll take u up the strip for a run, as far as I know they're allowing passengers this year, which prob means I'm going to have a que of people looking in lol.
  7. Your definatly going to need forged parts or have the nitrous limited to only kick in after 4000rpm, the amount of torque generated is going to reshape skinny rods for sure The 4efte or 5e is a very strong engine, but if its not built with the correct parts to take what ya wanna throw at it then it wont. Been in quite a few Type Rs with the gas, they work really well on it. Edit: Are you in England or Ireland? If your from Ireland I'll take ya for a run sometime.
  8. Some good questions asked there. For me I only use the gas when racing, Nitrous plus boost is a great combination, you can use the nitrous to spool very very large turbos, bringing in boost 2000-2500rpm earlier which is great on the 1/4mile, also when changing gears you have instant response for similare reasons as my first point. The cooling effect of the gas (-120c when in enters the inlet) cools down a high boost charge even further. If you don't want a ton of lag associated with large turbos but still want more power, then you can use gas to further increase the cars power. I've seen 2
  9. Lol I'll kepp ya in mind haha. With nitrous a 100shot doesn't mean 100hp, it means a 1mm hole in the jet, 50shot- 0.5mm hole, roughly you get half the horse power from the shot of gas.
  10. Hehe some of the opinoins on nitrous is funny to read. My Gt runs 150shot plus 2 bar of boost and we're upping the gas to 2 stage system which will total up to a 200shot and upping to boost to 2.5bar. The gas is very misunderstood and given a bad name by those who don't set it up correctly.
  11. Lol aye 300hp can be cranked out now no prob, I remember back in 2000 when my brother had a GT the first one I ever saw and 200hp was the number to get lo.
  12. If your only after 300hp then if it was me I'd stay 4E, if you want minimal lag then yes the 5E will help ya out a bit. The 5E can rev just as well as the 4E but in each case you will need her built to suit it, pushing mine on up to 9000-9500rpm for 2011 to suit the new setup but you'll not want to be doing that on an everyday car.
  13. I dont think there are performance gains to be had, perhaps if you had a restrictive exhaust system it would help take the strain of by venting to atmosphere.

  15. Whens this happening? I've to go to Manchester at the end of the month for 2 weeks, back on the 9th July.
  16. Was a good day, the weather was lovely. Unfortuntaly I killed the gearbox after only a few runs, I only have 1 video but the car wasn't running right on the run, the warning light was on after the burn out but I ran anyway.
  17. No doubt! I have a spare box sitting here waiting for the enevitable moment!
  18. On the 14th there wasn't much lol! Was approx 7400rpm in 4th over the line, the limiter is 7200rpm but nitrous gives u a but more but it's very dangerous to exceed the limiter. Turns out though I should be changing gear at 6000rpm in 4th! I was way of the mark all day but its all a learning experiance.
  19. The extremly tall tyres conteract it, I was mis shifting on the 14th, the powerband is all in the middle now cause of the nitrous. 2nd gear is my new first gear, 5th my new fourth.
  20. Lol Gaz, defo a good dose of the power if coming off the PP spec turbo and its not even wound out to its 2.2bar potential. @Idress the clutch is Competition Clutch Stage 5, they are my sponsor for the 2010 drag racing season, in exhange for stressing their clutches they are providing me with free replacements. Over the moon with the Stage 5 though. Transmission is standard aprart from an EP85 4.3 final drive. LSD is a Quaife unit, drives and CVs are standard. The car will be breaking the standard components on a regular basis but thats all part of the game we're in.
  21. My cars an odd one lad, to look under the bonnet it looks sub standard, you'd never guess it was much over 200hp lol. though the nitrous hoses give it away a little I guess.
  22. Cheers guys, we've added nitrous now for drag racing had it out for its first test on the 14th, I didn't perform all that well but should have the bugs Ironed out over the next month. 2 runs on there, one with no nitrous and one with nitrous.
  23. I wasn't fast yesterday lol! Few bugs to Iron out, terminals are 118mph which is a good jump up from 105-108mph, if I can transfer that speed into a good time I'll be happy.
  24. Hehe, I'll be pressing all the buttons if I'm lined up with ya I'd like to see how the car performs at last years power with just gearbox and suspension mods. Reckon I can do a 12sec run like that. If I manage a 12 straight of then I'll be happy to go balls out. Won't be doing many runs on the day though. Fingers crossed it stays dry lad!
  25. Pity my head lights weren't better lol, also I figured out what that sound was I was freeked out by, needless to say I'm a silly billy! Was the posts on the fence. I do tend to be nervous after working on the brakes If u think it was going well that night, you defo need another run haha Cheers for the run in yours too lad, I must say once you mentioned the chance of slippy sea weed I was quite nervous going round the bends and silly speed!
