You need to give the paint time to harden mate, put a sheet of wood ect under the newspaper and once you have painted it put it in front of your fire for a few hrs, i done exactly the same with my rocker cover yesterday. Painted it and left it in the shed overnight, picked it up in the morning and left 2 massive finger prints on it

Did you use plastic primer first mate? looking like a good project hopefully you will get a good mark for it.

How long have you had your car mate? also as previously said how old is the battery? as when i bought mine it only lasted a few weeks and died because of all the time it had been standing on the boat. Take it to a motor factors and ask them to do a test on it.

Forgot to mention the clutch is fucked and it looks like it has never been changed, so i ordered an exedy clutch, rocker cover gasket and smaller powersteering belt as i have removed the aircon. Also gutted the cat and am going to get rid of the restrictor in the manifold. Need to order a new grommet for the pcv valve and washers for the rocker cover bolts, am going to replace the cam belt while the engine is out as well.

I have bought myself a cheap 1994 gt which is in need of help lol, the lad who i bought it off managed to fuck the crank and 2 big end bearings! the car still has quiet a bit of mot left so i only need to tax it once the engine is transplanted. I bought the car for £900 with a spare engine and a set of 14" white oz rally slag alloys. The car come with some reclining buckets and trd harneses ( probably fake lol ) which are being removed. Here are a few pics of when i picked the car up, i will keep updating when i make progress. Started stripping the fucked engine down and removi

Well bit of an update off today, managed to get quiet a bit of the engine stripped down today. Removed the air con as that is not going back in, removed the dizzy, rocker cover, and brackets ready for painting. My uncle took some random pics of the work so far. Had to call it a day as i was getting pissed off with the weather, one minute it was sunny the next it was hail stoning. Going to make a start on the painting now. Mods feel free to move this over to the build up section.

Only paid £900 for it with the second engine and alloys, the civic still aint on the road yet because of the sva test, but it turns 10 in june so this will be my run around till then. Yeah jay hopefully you will see it soon.

Well here are a couple of pics of the car, it needs a good clay bar as it has been stood for months, going to make a start tomorrow on taking the old engine out and cleaning the engine bay. Will start a build up thread and update my pics on there, also got some oz rally slag alloys with it.

cheers i am going to need it lol, i have never done an engine swap before.

Here is the link to the post, you may need to register to read it, but there is also a link to the supra forum about a lass who bought a supra from them and it went bang on the way home. keighley cars

The police and trading standards are now involved with them. There is a post on japnortheast about them, a lad bought a rare imprezza from them and paid £1000 less to put it on the road himself. He took it to get registered and the dvla told him the paper work had been doctered to an earlier year. Turns out the car needs an sva test. That is how they have been puting there highly modded cars o the road!
-
Looking good phil, you should get yourself sone nice purple samco's for the engine bay really liking your install too.
-
cheers idrees, no i couldn't stay away.I was gutted when the lad drove away, i couldn't even watch him drive off lol. The civic will be on the road early june so will be ready for JAE you will have to pop over to the japnorthest stand again, or i will probably come over the the uksc one.
-
I got my t gt from them, was standard and mint condition never went wron in the year and a half i had it. Good lads too. As said the gt is faster to 60 because it is lighter, but the glanza has an extra blade on the turbo and there is more cosmetic stuff for the glanza.

Do not buy anything from keighley!!!!! they are a bunch of cowboys who sell dodgy cars. Want to know how they get their highly modded cars through the esva test? they alter the dates on the paper work. The ek9 was avaliable in a few specs one being the race base, those door cards are the same as what come in that but they don't come with the standard ek9 dash, seats, carpets, electric windows ect. If your mate is after an ek9 tell him to join www.ek9.org he will get all the help he needs on there. Edit, i thought you were on about keighley trade centre. I couldn't comment on torque, i honest

I sold my gt last month and really miss it, so i might be buying another one on sunday. The lad has fucked the crank but it is coming with a spare engine so i just need to swap them over. It will kep me happy till the civic is on the road.
-
That in no way looks better than a standard front end lol, fair play if he couldn't get original parts though.
-
Nothing mate, i thought i was selling the car so i sold it big mistake lol
-
Little update, i decided to wait until june to get the civic on the road so i don't have to sva it. So i have started buying some parts for it. I have put in a jvc kd-shx701 cd player in it along with jvc components and jvc 6x9's also fitted my boston 10" sub and kenwood amp. I ordered a sard induction kit from japan and some reservoir covers from australia which arrived on tuesday, so fitted them when i got in from work. I plan to make a cold air box for the filter to sit in with hard pipes to replace the rubber ones.

I think the only specialist tools you will need mate are an engine crane, i think you just unclip the sensors and unbolt the engine, driveshafts ect and lift it out. Bet you can't wait to get it fitted now?
-
It is the toms to82 body kit and you can get the replica ones from dave burwash or toby on tgtt.

Looks stunning kellie i know how much you have wanted these, still think that you should keep your old ones on till the shit weather is gone. But i know how impatient you are lol, just need to relocate your rear fog light into your light cluster now
