  1. Cheers phil, well big update tonight i have managed to get the engine back in will post some pics up tomorrow. Not long now
  2. You can't do things like that over there mate, judging by what phil has said these are not the sort of people that you want to make enemies with. I was based over there for 2 years when i was in the army and have seen first hand exactly what they are capable of. I am so gutted for you phil mate, the ammount of love, time, money, and effort you have out into your car. Hopefully it wont cost you too much to get it back upto scratch.
  3. Cheers mate, there will be more pics once i start to put the engine back in the car.
  4. Cheers phil, Managed to get a bit done today, got the cambelt and tensioner bearings changed. Fitted the new altinator belt and smaller power steering belt as i removed the aircon. Fitted the painted cam cover, and i am now ready for refitting the engine. Just need the weather to get a bit better.

    Snow

Was a blizard in sunderland this morning, but the sun is out now i might just get my engine back in yet lol
  6. It's not too old to go on the diagnostics machine, my first gt was a 95 model and my current one is a 94 model they both have diagnostic ports. I am sure that any car with an ecu has a diagnostics port. On my car as you look at the front of the car it is on the right hand side of the engine bay at the front. Might be in a different place on the ep91.
  7. By the sounds of it, it could be either your lamba sensor, or if the starlets have them your air intake temperature sensor. My dads megane had this problem and it needed 2 lamba sensors which cured it for a bit but then it done it again, so we put the diagnostic machine back on and it showed up that air intake sensor, replaced that and it has been ok since.
  8. Some chava was trying to race my mate in his 3oo+ bhp 200sx, the chav got caught by a copper on his speed gun doing 105mph but my mate was overtaking him at the time doing a lot more. The copper done the lad in the corsa and tried doing my mate as well, he had no evidence and my mate knew it. Instead of just saying you have no proof i was doing that speed as you only caught the corsa, he decided to have an argument with the copper and got an asbo on his car lmao.
  9. No worries mate, i will try my best to help.
  10. You dont have to do anything mate, that little box is like a set of gears which converts your clocks to run in mph instead of kmh, you should have got a small sticker with your converter which says mph, remove the 2 screws from the top of your speedo surround, then remove the 5 screws which hold your speedo binnacle in, remove this and remove the speedo cable and 3 cables from the back of this and then unclip the plastic cover on the front of the binnacle and place the mhp sticker over the khm one. Job done and your car will read in mph.
  11. Yeah the speedo is easy, if you look at your gearbox you will see i thick black cable going into the top of it. Unscrew this cable and pull the cable towards you, screw the convertor into the gearbox where you have just removed the other cable from. Then once you have screwed the converter in replace the black cable into that and you are ready to go. It will take no longer than 10 minutes and that is only if the cable is tight to remove, if it is just get hold of it with some molegrips.
  12. What the servicing or the speedo converter? i done all the servicing myself on my car, i refuse to go to garages and be ripped off with labour charges. One thing i will say is if you still have your aircon it is a bit of a nightmare as the filter is located ontop of the aircon pump. It took me 3hrs the first time i done it, the first hour was trying to find the actual filter lmao. I removed the aircon after that and it only takes about 15-20 minutes now.
  13. That looks an absolute beast mate, i know exactly how you feel i have had my ek9 sat in my back yard since march last year only 2 months to go though then it will be on the road
  14. You are better off having the limiter removed mate as if you hit it too many times you can do damage to the engine. As long as you service it every 5000 miles or less depending how you drive it, you shouldn't have many problems with it. My old one never let me down once and it was my daily driver.
  15. I have seen these on ebay, i have been looking for a gt model for ages but cant find one anywhere
  16. All you need to do is unscrew the speedo cable from the gearbox, and screw in the converter to the gearbox and refix your speedo cable into the converter. It is a 5 minute job., and will remove the speed cut on your car too.
  17. I was in my work van coming home last week and i was a bit over the speed limit and didn't realise there was a police van following me, he followed me into the services and tried to say exactly the same thing. I asked if he had video recording equipment in his van, he didn't so i said how are you going to take me to court with no evidence? lol. It is one law for them and one law for us, just like that copper who got caught doing 160mph in his car because he wanted to test the top speed. I magine if we got pulled over and gave that excuse.
  18. Cheers man. Bit of an update, i have got the clutch fitted, got the gearbox back on, fuel rail painted and back on,manifold, turbo back on. Just need to borrow a set of cam locks of my mate so i can change the cam belt and bearings changed. Hopefully will have the engine back in on saturday then it is the fun part of sorting the loom out
  19. Bit of an update, all of the things i have ordered have arrived  they are :- 1, Exedy clutch 2, New engine mount 3, Cam belt 4, smaller power steering belt 5, New altinator belt 6, Pcv rubber gromet 7, 5 rocker cover gasket washers 8, Rocker cover gasket 9, New fuel filter And i have nearly re-assembeled the new engine tonight  Hear are a few pics.
  20. I wouldn't say i am mechanicaly competant geo lol, but i refuse to pay garages to work on my cars. The car only cost £900 so if i fuck it up it is not that much of a big deal, plus the knowlege i am gaining from this is worth it. When i bought the car the lads brother had removed most of the loom ( i am not looking forward to putting it back together) but it is really easy to remove the engine. 1, lable all of your connections on your loom eg what i will do if i do it again, number each sensor and each connector, 1/1, 2/2 and so on. 2, remove all of your sensors, speedo cable and gear
  21. Absolutely stunning gt mate, love it.
  22. A little update, i have had to strip the rocker cover back down as when i applied the laquer it reacted with the paint anyway here are the few usable pics from when the engine came out. Also my Exedy clutch, rocker gaskett and smaller power steering belt arrived today the clutch looks 1000 times better than the fucked one lol. one fucked clutch plate fucked engine notice the colour of the top end!!!
  23. Stay well clear of keighley trade centre, they are a bunch of cowboys who sell shit cars, don't just do a search on this forum about them, pick any jap car forum and do a search on them you will get the same answer.
  24. Few little pics of my painting so far, have decided only to do the toyota on the rocker cover black now. And have painted the intercooler bracket as well, and have started to prime the boost pipes, turbo pipe and the gt badge. I still haven't got the pics of the engine removal yet.
