  1. Left king lead on the computer and skybox over night and re insulated it, left the car to dry out over the day and now it's working and boosting like normal. Very happy thanks for the input much appreciated.
  2. Was infact the thermostat, it's lovely to have heat! Cheers for input much appreciated
  3. Nice one, this didn't for one moment cross my mind. Going to pop them a brown nosing email and see where that gets me haha. Cheers
  4. yeah, it does seem the most likely culprit, it's idling better now, it's mainly over the boost it had problems i'm going to grab the king lead in tonight and dry it off with a hair dryer and then go to town with the insulation tape, then hopefully try it out in the morning once the bays had a chance to dry out. But i will have to track a new king lead for sure!
  5. This areas pretty dead for decent cars unless you like the Nova/Corsa class lol. Hmmmmmm!
  6. yeah it's spluttering I was originally worried I overlooked the fact water may have made it's way inter the hard piping and done some damage but I'm pretty sure this is electrical. I really don't see how the water would have got into anywhere, although dizzy cap I could understand a little more. This car gives me nothing but problems if I work on it!
  7. So I changed my thermostat today, I removed a section of the inter cooler piping to do this and of course the thermostat housing. Started it up took it for a drive it was fine, until i hit boost. It then got progressively worse, to the point it sounded like a scoob, was really hesitating 500rpm idle etc. I took the plugs out to check for water but they are showing no signs atall. I took the hard piping off the intercooler to see if any water had perhaps made it into this, but it seemed fine. It has magnecore leads which appear to be in great condition, but the king lead is a standard one
  8. Just brought a 98 spec front bumper for a good price but it has a round cut hole for a side exit and a bit below the fog cut for a larger intercooler pipe section. Can anyone tell me the best process for trying to hide these away? will upload pics soon for extra detail. Thanks
  9. Just removed my dials and had them apart after putting them back in I have found the seatbelt light to be intermittently working, and my fuel light is now not functional, my fuel gauge twice was showing I had half a tank when actually I was running on fumes, any ideas what I'be done?
  10. Is this the car one YouTube that makes minced meat of a Ferrari showing off with two snobs on board? If so loving the vids!
  11. Aha, bingo so long as I'm not missing something major, that's perfect, didn't think of that. Thanks for your help, much appreciated. What's the difference between the two housings you sent I.e. are they both 96 specs? Thanks once again!
  12. That is the correct sensor, the Red one im not familiar with but may be tucked away I can double check, but the other one in place of where the bolt is in your picture is the same sensor as I am trying to describe! Thanks once again
  13. I have red and yellow plugged in strangely the sensor in question in your picture is replaced with a bolt, just to the left of the yellow dot, big thanks for the picture.
  14. Yeah it looks like on there looks to be one on the thermostat housing which is why I'm confused i can't find the wire or plug for it in the loom I really can't find it very confused, hmmm!
  15. Can't upload pics I'm having to use my phone, I meant the dizzy cap not alternator if you follow the top rad hose to the engine it's the first sensor in. It is a 96 glanza, yeah I am slightly confused I'm trying to understand 4efte's again after owning a cupra. Thanks
  16. Actually on the block? Yeah sounds like it I think
  17. This is a single spade connection, looks like its in the cooling system, there is a grey plug on the loom which feeds most things on that area of the engine which I was thinking was possibly unplugged from the ac, I could be wrong. Thanks
  18. Sorry I didn't make that too clear it's beneath the alternator and directly next to where the top rad hose comes into the engine. Ahhh god I'm having one of those days it's beneath the distributor!
  19. Looking over my engine bay today and I noticed what looks like a temperature which has an electrical spade connection on it which has nothing plugged into it. It's directly next to the top radiator hose going into engine. I'm just wondering why it's not plugged in I can't see any obvious reasons and no wire. Thanks! Temperature sensor*
  20. If this is on the back of the ECU ten the wires are probably under the plastic slats, just hidden away. Then*
  21. Recently brought a Glanza, and I am just getting round to sorting the usual little bits and bobs, the center console (heating controls) have two bulbs which I have tested, one was faulty other was working fine, but I get no light what so ever and have no power to the lighting circuit I think. I did test it with a working set of bulbs to no avail. What could be the cause of this? I don't think it was a fuse, as we did visually check them the day after buying it. Thanks!
  22. Yes Corofin, sounds to be thermostat at play here, think it's possibly failed in a funny position? As it's not over heating, which I guess is the main thing. It did come with a spare so I'm going to test that later this evening to make sure that's ok although it is boxed and appears to have been boxed all it's life. Then I'll fit that and report back, many thanks!
