  1. This still confuses me like... i dont see how its not 9.1? I know i have a 5e and alamo based the 9.1 on a standard 5e with a 1.0mm gasket surely fitting a 1.4 will lower it to 8.?.? When i worked mine out with alamos specs and other guides ut came out to just over 9.1 so my ratio should be high 8s, higher than most peoples 8.5.1
  2. No mate its not an oil... Its a coating applied like a carbon sort of stuff if i remember rightly directly to the bearing! Doubt its cheap but IDK
  3. Yeh they sound like the same pistons i have, depends on headgasket thickness also really, How thick is the headgasket you are using? I Worked my compression ratio out on my 5e and it should be high 8s using a 1.4mm gasket The compression ratio stated is based on the standard 1.0mm Gasket and an unskimmed head etc
  4. Have you checked the Ignition system? Plugs leads dizzy etc? First port of call
  5. Mine was doing the coolant thing mate, convinced it was the headgasket in the end. Was gradually getting worse and nothing seemed to stop it. Was about to get the head reconned and dropped onto it before it blew itself into a million bits. I Would get the head off it if i was you!

  10. If it was me i would do 5e, VF22 With the P18 Exhaust housing would be awesome! And PMed Chesh!
  11. 4E VF22 Will be mega laggy, P18 Exhaust side will bring it down but will still be around 4k Upover for good boost (1bar) For comparison i was 4100revs full boost on a VF24!
  12. I know daz its a shame they didnt tidy the bay before dropping it in, among other things but im saying no more... Finished off the Custom alloy front panel, and started polishing the whole bay and relocating yet more bits yesterday (Map sensor AVCR Sensor etc) Hopefully by the time the engine is in the whole front from the doors forward will be either new/Reconned or rebuilt and cleaned/painted TT

  14. My engine is going to be 9.1 Compression... Easily achievable and much more efficient and responsive but as above limits massive boost levels which 8/10 People don't use anyway.

  18. I dont know adam, it fuelled my vf24 at low 11 afrs at 1.1bar! Flows a hell of a lot. I planned to run mine in on this but need the money to finish the rest of it :/ if it doesnt sell i will keep it and set the car up for it myself and run 1.4 bar
  19. Bit better isnt it, That first photo is after a good pressure wash too! I used a bit of gunk and a pansponge/brillo pad. Still needs a polish though i tried a little area and it came up like new so i will soon see!
  20. Yep it certainly is hence the photo. Every ct9 i have seen has had this crack... There prone to it but it doesnt affect them
  21. Engines been dropped off at the machine shop along with everything that rotates to be checked, Lightened and dynamically balanced, they are also building me a lightweight flywheel. Engine is out of the car, and got a few more photos of the damage... I Have spent a few hours on the bay mainly removing the ABS, Redundant loom, relocating and tucking a few bits, removing the charcoal filter, and giving it a damn good clean, just needs a polish next! Looks a million times better i think I also spent a while rewiring and retaping every inch off the loom, Absolute pisstake but looks alot neater t
