  1. Can you feel the knock more than hear hear it? Is your steering wheel vibrating? Have you tried 2 diff wheels on the front to make sure its not the wheels or tyres?
  2. Hello people I'm in quite a bit of need for the pin for an HKS actuator as the one ive got is a home made effort and doesnt fit properly. If you have one kicking about maybe on an old turbo or actuator let me know id very much appreciate it. Cheers
  3. So i checked last night and the arm on the actuator was slightly loose. I tightened it up a few turns and i do think it has began to sort the issue. The problem now being I had to have a pin made up as i didnt have the HKS 1 but the one on mine isnt a perfect fit so the actuator arm sits at an angle to the wastegate penny arm. Does anyone have a spare pin kicking about on an old turbo or actuator?
  4. Av got the full standard exhaust aswell mate with a mani cat the whole lot if you need tht too lol. Like tht for a sales pitch. 1 stop exhaust shop at ma gaff.
  5. Ive got used turbo gaskets might even have a mani 1 aswell mate. Then just go to fynepax in dton and get nuts n bolts for a quid or 2 and use some exhaust paste for the rest. Viola sorted cheapy cheap
  6. Your running a CT9 and will still have the standard management worst thing tht can happen is you hit fuel cut and that will only happen if its really cold or if your ragging the dick out of it. I can garuntee if you have a healthy engine now putting mods on it and leaving the boost the same and staying away from fuel cut will do no damage what so ever. Infact if you were staying off fuel cut you will be making your engines life easier as it will be able to do the same without as much stress. As for the rest what mike and trisk have been saying Id back them up also emanage is a farr better wa
  7. Aye mate the turbo is spot on just been rebuilt and was boosting perfect before we done the flyy wheel and removed the Ic and de cat.
  8. Kl I'll give that a go tonight and see how I get on and go from there. Cheers
  9. I was hoping this would be the cause but with the arm being set too long surely it wouldnt be making boost higher up?? Or could this be creep due to the tiny intercooler do you reckon? I hope it was a leak last week and the actuator this week lol.
  10. Yeah agree with trisk the 82 ones are more common and tend to be slightly cheaper. There have been a few for 91's over the last few months which suggest to me you could be waiting a while.
  11. Aye am gna fiddle about with the actuator the only thing tht makes me doubt tht was was the week between doing the flywheel and the turbo it had the standard actuator on it and was still actng the same could be pure coincidence but ill give every idea a try mate.
  12. I kinda have mate but its just the basic TMIC with the 2 tiny rubber pipes. Plus it makes boost higher through the revs. That could be it creeping due to the TMIC though i suppose. But im sure the hoses are sealed and were fine before, Im defo going to have to give it another good check but im genuinely confused.
  13. Nice front end ... bad sides .... terrible rear. Kinda funky if your into that thing. And the fact it burns fuel makes 0% emissions virtually impossible. May just mean its tax exempt due to low emissions.
  14. Where do we start.... So fitted my turbo and finally all was good. Then me and Dave EP fitted my lightweight flywheel. We had the standard TMIC off when doing this to give us more space. When we finished off and refitted it all I drove the car and noticed it wasnt making boost anywhere near the same. I started to undo the de-cat when we were trying to get the gearbox back on because the brace was in the way but cudnt get the final bolt undone so left it on. I assumed there was a small boost leak from somewhere causing this so never worried as i planned to take the turbo off again for some fi
  15. I get 120mb at home on virgin.. Perks of the job lol
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DEPO-Racing-Electronic-Programmable-Turbo-Boost-Controller-Round-type-/120963848011?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c2a01d74b Does this seem ok to everyone? Thought it seems a bit cheap to be legit???
  17. A must for someone with COD out tonight GLWS buddy.
  18. 30 bangers or sumthin. Aye head bolts cud be used again at a push but re using a gasket is a no no. Even still id never re use bolts its really no worth the hassle for a few quid.
  19. Dave. Get your head skimmed, get a new gasket and head bolts. Anyone who says otherwise is talking pish its not worth the hassle trying to re-use this kinda stuff. I assumed you had already had all this done or i woulda said in the 1st place. If you dont know where to get it skimmed ill show you a place in dton ive have 100s of head done there.
  20. I've got a bonnet but wud still need a bit of work jus depends how bad urs is.
  21. I have had larger custom comp wheel on my tongs also a larger exhaust wheel with the housing bored out. You could do the same. Id advise having the hot pipe exit on the comp side of the turbo bored out aswell as thats the main restrictor on the CT9 with that gone you could get lots of boost and rapid spool.
  22. It all depends on your exhaust. If you have an aftermarket exhuast where the bore is 2.5inch then how can a gasket for a 2" or 1.5" bore work. It just simply wont. Also the faces of the flanges on the majority of decats and aftermarket decats are flat. These need a recess and a bit of pipe sticking out in the system for them to sit in. This is what your looking for: http://www.camskill....Turbo_EP82_EP91
  23. Thats only for a stock system. There isnt a gasket for aftermarket systems. There is one available from camskill but its not needed.
  24. Have a custom ct9 hybrid turbo built get best of both worlds. It has been done in the past. I also have a custom Tongs ct9 on mine unmapped at 0.6 bar and it goes like a bitch. Where a Std CT9 is running out of puff at 6000rpm mines is just getting going and feels like the rev range isnt long enough.
  25. There isnt a gasket in there. Camskill do offer one but its not necessary just use paste.
