  1. manga graphics would look good with some tasty wheels, there is a design going spare form another forum i'm on: its designed by a guy called mook, this was originally for a soarer, his stuff is amazing, second to none quality check his stuff out at skewer.co.uk
  2. would indeed look great on some coilies,
  3. welcome to the club, any pics?
  4. yeah he was the inspiration for the TT600 throttle bodies. the thing i've learnt most from fitting the ITB, whilst retaining the stock ECU and gubbins, is to pay attention to the MAP lines. removing all the PCV lines and just leave it with a breather on the up right and a pipe (smaller diameter than stock) on the other to emulate having a manifold attached. also it's easy to use the original throttle positions sensor with the throttle bodies and adapt the throttle pulley to fit. you'll need the plug in the Idle Control Valve so the ECU still thinks it's there (it'll over compensate otherwise). but remove the stock ICV from the airflow lines as the throttle stopper is the best way for controlling the idle. yes it's a struggles a bit when it's cold but it warms up pretty quick then it's fine. you can still plumb in the brake servo to the MAP lines (in fact i recommend it) as it is nice to have the assistance when braking and the servo acts like a reservoir and helps to take the 'lumps' out of the ITB pulses. oh yeah if you run the ICV in the air flow it makes no difference under load but screws up the fueling when the throttle is shut and mucks up the idle too. ditch the fuel evap line from the cannister, you don't need it and it is no friend to the MAP sensor on ITB's. Pics available of everything i said on request!
  5. awesome looking car, so analy immaculate. also i didn't know that the paseo had a sun shade, mine never did and i've never seen one before this thread. (it did take another paseo owner to show me that the sun roof came out as well)
  6. i have corolla SR setup just lying around, big single pot style that i'm going to be using. once i've tidied them up of course.
  7. awesome looking machine and impressive beginnings of a spec list there.
  8. just seen this, what a build thread. some great idea i think i will be stealing...
  9. they started life on a triumph TT 600 not 100% sure of the year though, but i got the idea as i'd recognised the itb's from some one else's starlet based vehicle using them. don't know what the Code is, i'll have a look for you, the sticker was pretty faded as not to give a great idea as to what it's frim. i might ask our local dealer or check it on my step mom's corolla G6 and then i'll get back to you.
  10. surprisingly so, it's feels a bit hesitant in the lower gears (i think thats because i haven't sorted out the exhaust manifold yet, that next on the list) but in 5th and 6th the top end has noticeably more pull, even on the standard everything.
  11. it reminds me of one of them grey'd out CGI youtube vids where the guy goes on about how awesome his car is and how rubbish everyone else is.
  12. you could fit the Tein super street springs? that's what i've got 50mm drop at the rear and 57mm at the front (apparently)
  13. sweet the ashtray is an awesome touch.
  14. looking good, drop it a few mm and it'll look sweet
  15. try skewer.co.uk he makes some awesome custom stuff
  16. only one way to find out!
  17. at this point i need to explain that i presently have 4 current cars on the go: 96 paseo 99 corolla 78 316 73 spitfire 6 cylinder 1: on axle stands with all wheels removed.......... 3: playing in the snow.......... 6: In your garage 8: on a track.......... 11: you in your car engine bay......... 12: of your Dirty/filthy car......... 22: at a car meet.......... 24: in deep snow.......... 25: hauling cargo.......... (does a boot full of G6 gearbox count?) 33: next to an Evo.......... 35: getting modded (parts installed).......... (3S-gte going in) 40: hiding in the dark (well working in the dark) 43: next to a broken down car..........(well this is me broken down on the M3) - last pic is the result of using cheap 'comes with the wheels' chrome whees nuts. (i shit my pants when this happened)now i run cold forges aluminium or OEM wheels nuts, i've got some red D1 spec nuts on this one now. -
  18. the car and engine have done 155K the g'box has done 89K

    The End Of Tpm

ooooh, i was looking forward to the second issue. i'd subscribed and everything. this is a great loss.
  20. i've seen cosworth yb blocks go in these. awesome little cars
  21. yeah, where as the old 5 speed i dropped out of the power band when changing up to 4th and 5th the G6 box is geared just right to change, dropping into the bottom end of the power band for each gear.
  22. my engine with the G6 box fitted dropping in a days work done:
  23. well yesterday i was busy working away the whole day at the garage i use. i turned up with this in the boot of my car: it's a corolla G6 gear box, purchased from eBay for the princely sum of £99. i unwrapped it from the mutlitude of packaging: to reveal this: and it would be going in here: first thing's first bonnet off the get the crane in: crane in and taking the weight: then popped the rive shafts out leaving the hubs attached: after lots of swearing, snagging and unplugging the last few connections of the back of the engine: here's the empty, messy bay. if i wasn't driving this car home the same evening i would have taken the time to clean it too. popped the old box off, again with the crane taking a little of the weight. here is a quick comparison of the two gearboxes, the paseo 5 speed on the left, the corolla 6 speed on the right. the corolla 6 speed comes with a left hand box mount that will need removing: the paseo left hand torque mount will bolt fine to the same place on the corolla box, you might want to make sure the threads are clean though. Often people say you'll need to use the corolla linkages, but if you swap over the shift linkage mount from the paseo it has just enough throw to get in reverse, it's a bit hit and miss but it does mean you can just swap the box straight. (corolla linkage mount in hand, paseo linkage mount attached to the box). here's the 6 speed on ready to go back in slinging it back in: the 6 speed has some awkward fins and vanes that get snagged on everything going back in, it's a real juggle. engine now back in and the final missing pieces going back on, like the bonnet! all done and back on the road ready to take me home: i can report the final drive difference between the paseo 5 speed and the corolla 6 speed is about 200-300 rpm
  24. the corolla G6 gearbox. it was a limited run for the fog-eye corolla 1.3's over here. more pics to follow.
  25. you CAD i did wonder about that as he was telling me the most expnsive part of getting mani's made was the flanges. i've got an old t3 turbo mani i thought i'd cut the flange of that. And as for the inlet, he reckons best to bastardise the original alloy inlet mani and actually weld the throttle bodies to the mani and smooth them through.
