That's the one dude. Should be a soils square pice of metal with whole in. You can turn it round or get a new one from toyota for £12. Check the cable bushes that go on the gear box. The go overal after a while.

i would run it on 10w40 semi and a cheaper oil filter will work fine. not sure about all the branded filters they use magnets in some.

cj performance track build
turbo Grant replied to james@cjperformance's topic in EP80/EP82 Progress Blogs
Looks like the same cage that's in mine. Mines not t45 tho. And the mk1 GT doors don't have door bars so no love loss there. Be nice to see the billet cranks group buy -
I had to drag the short man away the other day before he made a mess. been stripping the engine wiring from my old gt. and sorting out all the wires. loads and loads of wires. love it all good fun. striped out all the a/c and abs out the front sub loom. loads can come out. need to get a heag gasket so i can put the head back on, intercooler fitted and plumbed in. rad fitted, custom rewire to the engine back to standalone ecu. not sure which turbo i will go for yet. i have a wepr external gated mani scooby flange. get some seats and wheel on then road map. mised a few bits out but not a lot to

Will be interested to see how the head performs will be a very lumpy idle by the sounds of the spec.

If you want over 300 I would go with the td05. On my 5e Im thinking td05 20g. A td04 will spool super fast and make a very nice road going car and about 250+ with cams you should make 300. All boils down to what you want the car for.

Pink for the win. Will stand out and look rude. My cage and inside is just plane old White. But I like it. Looks clean.

Yer the top cover. You get silver and black ones.
-
I've only seen the silver timing top cover engines in the early GT's, you do get the black cover engines in the later ones and they have match stick rods like the glanza.
-
My gt engine with the silver timing cover has the thicker rods in. Made a right mess of the black top timing cover engine when that went. Left me with a hole front and back. The middle of the rod missing. The gudgen pin snapped off the piston. Found it in the sump with the top of the rod ;)
