Heard a bit of stories about the ultra stuff, not as easy to fit as you might think apparently. I've gone for whiteline stuff, seems to be what a majority are using.

Never smoked on my car, under boost, deceleration or acceleration. When I removed the turbo I did notice oil in the exhaust ports which indicated to me the valve stem seals had gone. There is some slight oil in the turbo itself on the turbine side only. If the asking price is met I will include a turbo rebuild kit just incase, I can't say fairer than that. The powerband of the engine will move up the rpm's. Wouldn't really say its worth doing unless going for a td05 or bigger as you'll just increase lag. It's all to do with air flow through a cylinder. A small diameter cylinder the air will have to speed up to get the same volume of air through a small hole. A large diameter cylinder with air running through it, the air speed will decrease unless the volume of air is increased, ie running a larger turbo or more boost. But the 4e cylinder head is fairly well designed to begin with.

It is possible to use rings from other manufacturers, although they will have to know some measurements to make them, as most are probably not off the shelf items. They might be apart of the Mahle group, which we all know are the world leaders in piston technology. Mahle also own a company called Clevite who make rings.

I would reduce the tyre pressures a little, even drop them 3psi each will help, will stop the car from sliding about so much as the lower pressure will ensure that there is more contact patch on the road surface

If you want to go bigger turbo, save yourself the hassle and buy a programmable management system now, will save you some time in the long run ;)
