  1. Best off doing a compression/sniff test mate, Peace of mind.
  2. Steve you ever seen the optional gold toyota emblem's? I'm after one, few on ebay but not sure if they are genuine toyota ones as they are all different shades of gold lol.
  3. Epid build Lew, love them wheels! Even tempted by a set myself although I don't wanna copy anyone else
  4. Just loop the line from the outlet to the return on the thermo housing. Only will need the oil line and a return to the sump.
  5. You don't have to run the water lines, it's only there to further aid cooling, which the oil does on its own.
  6. Check the engine number above the 5E stamp. Toyodiy might be able to tell you or failing that i'm sure Toyota can
  7. That's because they are running methanol with AFR's as rich as 3:1. It's the inlet temps which bring on detonation, higher intake temps, detonation is more likely to occur. The cooler the charge the more timing advance you can add to the map. It's the low compression of these engines which keep them "safe" I would go with an fmic, you won't regret it and for the same price as an arc tmic, you then have the chance to plan for the future if you need to without having the hassle to sell and buy again. The zisco one looks good with very little cutting.
  8. Water pump Oil pump Cambelt kit Alternator Power steering pump Inlet and exhaust manifolds Might be more lol
  9. Wouldn't say thats very high at all. Most modern engines run a lot higher compression ratio, and also a higher bmep. It's the low compression of these engines that allow such tuning without much fuel modifications.
  10. Grant's right, they ran an F28 6 speed gearbox from a calibra/cavalier turbo 4x4. The F20 might be better suited as it has shorter ratio's and is 5 speed, but still don't think it would work very well.
  11. Is it forged? Seems ok to me, they are all equal or there abouts. Would like to see a bit more myself.

Depends on the ecu, standalones are about £400+.
  13. x2, doesn't say the bores were oval either. Must have been a reason why they done it? Might be worth emailing back and asking?
  14. Would you sell engine just on it's own mate?

  16. Yes it will spool it earlier, but top end performance will be restricted due to the engines increased displacement. If that wasn't the case we would have v8's running ct9's TD05 on a 5e will spool very well and at 1.5 bar will still be producing very good figures. Torque is the much more important factor rather then bhp.
  17. Might sound like a dumb question but where do these actually fit to?
  18. Will run out of puff quicker on a 5e. 1.7 bar is probably pushing it on the td05's efficiency range.
  19. Go external wastegate, much better and precise control over the boost. Don't think a TD05 will flow 350bhp, will get close to it though if your not that worried about chasing figures.
  20. True, the early gt's had a 6 bolt diff and the glanza has a slightly different gear ratio's to aid in accelerating because it's heavier than the gt.
