As above guys and what boost where u pulling at the time, i shamed a good few so far mostly smelly hondas.

I would never run a tuned car without a wideband for my own peace of mind, i would say td had a nice ignition map and fuel map to suit, if a little fuel dropped out at full boost there she goes, and as said above if it where a fake emb and it lost its map its going to run lean at full boost and melt all.

Fit a wideband it might save u melting another engine.

There is one thing i will never do without and thats my wideband, i have mapped mine myself on an e manage blue running 1 bar td04 and going strong, i no what i done to the car i no my air/fuel and i have no det, a wideband and some det cans is a little price to pay to monitor your tune weather it was done by a pro tuner or not, i would imagine the tuner checked the static timing while mapping if he where any good, i would say u ran lean and melted pistons.

It should be checked for fuelling with a wideband but it should be up for it, what turbo/boost where u running, do u mean bottom end bearings.

I dont think the plug and play ecu will like an apexi safc messing with it, the plug and play ecu on its own should fuel the td04 just get fuelling checked.
