I agree with Addy, my daily is a 2.5L Legacy and thats far cheaper to insure than other cars with less CC, a Glanza for example.

I've recently seen a couple of threads where people have been asking about 4WD conversions, so i was doing a bit of work to mine today and thought i'd throw a few pics up to show the underside of an 85. Sorry these pics arent very clear, and exhaust has been removed. And to all the *5 gurus, if you would like to identify specific parts, or have any more info/pics etc. then please include it/them, i'm still not as clued up on the system as i'd like to be ;)

For some strange reason GTs are about half the price to insure than a Glanza (for me anyway), even though its basically the same car Try a few quotes on gocompare, usually admiral & elephant are the cheapest. If you put in the reg and it comes up as a Corolla then change it to a GT My insurance was 1100 - 1200 (cant remember exactly) 19 years old, 0ncb, low risk postcode, with mods on, i was main driver & parents as named. Just a few months ago by the way.

And cheers for the suspension Dave, its sits as high as a pilots piece-box on the standard 85 stuff, canny wait to get these on and have it lower. Scotland is 4paw capital man, if you look hard you will find one

So a small update, managed to get a few mins free about a week ago to actually work on this Just removed the AC stuff from the bay, rest is coming out when i remove the dash. My FTE flywheel & Exedy 3 paddle arrived so i'll be fitting them at some point. Also got a set of GT shocks with lowering springs, i'll swap the rear shocks around so it sits a bit lower. It'll do as a temp solution No pics yet. Also my Zisco topmount stuff came, manifold & screamer in mild with the down pipe in stainless. Just need to save a bit and source the rest of the stuff Quick pic in a sec.
