90* movement means the tension is ok. Let the car idle and spray loads of wd40 around the area. Increase the revs with the throttle body when youre doing this to. The try it with the alternator under load, ie, lights on full beam etc. Check for squealing then.
Thats true actually ^^^ but if a turbo shits itself then normally oil ends up in the exhaust. Worth a shot to clean the exhaust out for 5 quid worth of petrol.
You can check the belt tension by turning/twisting the belt to the side, should go to around 90* Changing it is a piece of piss mate, disconnect the negative battery cable, loosen the long alternator bolt (possibly a bracket to) and pull the alternator torwards you, might need to use a lever/pry bar/ long screwdriver of some sort incase the alternator is wedged in. Then slip the belt off and repeat in reverse order.
Take the exhaust off and pour petrol down it a few times. Then take it for a fucking good blast up a motorway to get rid of the left over shit in the system. If youve ruled out, turbo, rings and stem seals then chances are its oil residue in the exhaust.
Youre best to stick a long screwdriver to push the release tab on the clip itself, otherwise the clip might snap and you'll end up with an irritating rattle. Pretty sure you can leave the fan box in though.
Is it defo the belt ? I had this noise today when i was checking the car over again and i found it to be the alternator itself making the noise. Just replace the belt, chances are its been on for a long while anyway. Plus i think theyre about 7 quid. Peace of mind incase it snaps on you as it also runs the waterpump.
To remove the actual dash, theres a bolt behind the time clock, one behind the instrument cluster ane one either side of the car. Then theres four pink push clips that run along the bottom of the window.
Wouldnt hold your breath ^^ I dont think he knows/cares who he owes money to. Seriously, hes selling coilovers to repay us all, or to clear his paypal debts and keep the rest of the money to himself.... Trickey one.
Good stuff man, do you think you'll be ready for a meet in June ? Gonna fire a post up in a few weeks time. Bad news on the civic, K20s are not cheap :/

In that case then use all the 98 spec stuff, anyone doing a conversion atm will tell you not to bother mating the looms. Some of the plugs in the interior dont match between the two. Id just strip the shell you got down to nothing and go from there.
