car issues and lack of power resolved .........turns out inlet cam was out a tooth and inlet opened late and shut late making me lose power. CHECKED ALL THE TIMING POINTS AND ALL ARE SPOT ON AND PERFECT. compression check went from 150psi up to 170 psi over all four and car feels soooo much better BECUASE OF THE INLET CAM ADJUSTMENT I RECHECKED AFRS AND THEY HAVE GONE FROM 11.0 WOT IN 3RD TO 11.3 SO THERES DEFINATLEY BEEN A SMALL CHANGE WHAT WITH EXTRA AIR BEING MADE BECUASE OF CORRECT COMBUSTION.

JUST SO GUYS ARE AWARE RESULT WAS POOR BECUASE I WAS A TOOTH OUT ON INLET AND VALVE WAS OPENING LATE AND CLOSING LATE. REDONE COMPRESSION CHECK AND GONE FROM 150 TO 175 PSI AND CAR NOW FEELS AWESOME. -
update guys and girls,checked timing and was out a tooth and made the inlet open late and close late. so anyway was fixed and redid compression and now I have 170 psi over all four cylinders abd well chuffed

so anyway the bits that I found online were spot on and correct. my compression ratio is now 170 over all four !!!!!!!!!! very happy and thanks for all helpful inputs and advice.much appreciated.

so u reckon my compression will still be at 150 even though my timings now correct ??

f found this as doing research and bored at work... remember I believe my inlet valves opening late and shutting late . The point that the intake valve goes closed has a large effect on cylinder pressure. When the piston is traveling back up the cylinder, it will force some of the fuel/air mixture past the still open intake valve into the intake port. If the intake valve closes later in the cycle, some of the fuel/air mixture will be forced past the intake valve into the intake port, which will reduce cylinder pressure. I have worked out on my car that the inlet valves would have remained open a fraction longer than it should as my inlet timing was "LATE" on the compression cycle . this would obviously lead to a small amount of compression/ air and fuel to be lost and put back into the inlet system which isnt great. lol.

potter all I can think is that it was the opposite way wrong to mine as mine "drives fine". started hot or cold.reved up.afrs fine.and all the rest of it. I am looking forward to driving it tommorow to see if theres a difference.

absolutley no problem amjad,your a pleasure to deal with. as i said in the throttle body has been cleaned thouroughly,and properly setup TPS with feeler and multimeter, i am glad its helped you out. all the best with your car. regards mikey

heya guys, so tonight i got home and checked my timing.removed rocker cover etc as my mechanic friend said it maywell be out a bit..... lined all the relevant markings up and this came to light on the cams....................tooth out on cams soooooo i went about correcting it, as above its all now lined up CORRECTLY. have yet to see what compressions like but my mechanic friend has said despite it being just one tooth it should make a difference. does seem to rev up alot quicker on the throttle , hopefully this sorts things
