heres what they do....they work well

for the people asking about prepparing the gearbox for spraying, i used various sizes of wire brush drill attachments for getting into tiny snug areas to really bare metal the alloy, then after areas properly cleaned I wiped over thoroughly with brake and carb cleaner. as for the paint it is just aluminium coloured standard spray paint from a1 motorspares.made sure as always to heat up the metal with a hairdryer before spraying to makesure proper adhesion and look.works real well and easy to do. in other news the oil change was a success and i took a picture of the magnetic sump plug as there were people interested in seeing just what they catch on the end. heres the piccy

tonight I continued on with a second hand GT TURBO gearbox. as always the gearbox was corroded and looking horrible as they are subjected to the elements etc. heres some of the work so far heres what gearboxs get like :

no got mine of ebay.was about 5-6 quid . well worth the moneys and still fine after daily use over 2 years.

I have had a magnetic sump plug in all my starlets.i wouldnt have a performance car without one. as said above u will see a small amount of superfine metal each time you change oil.this being stuck and secured in one safe place in this way is very important and a great idea. I am doing an oil change tommorow and will post up the pic here of the magnetic sump plug.

haha yes indeed.lots has changed.u know me, love to tinker and play about with new ideas. yeah I figure those new bearings will give a notable improvement. well worth doing ;-)

ordered some gearshift bearings/upgrade kit on monday. here they are today and good quality to. thanks very much

ordered these badboys up from iddy.can only make gearshifts better.

I have used r888s as dailys. there fine in normal conditions ie bit of rain etc but in standing water or heavy rain they are a bit dangerous and aquaplane so easy so be warned.

yes 5w/40w is alot better for a car when cold as its offers better protection. its not anything to do with not ragging a cold car, its general cold start protection.

man I am loving those headlight ram air effect units.especially the white glanza one.superb.love it.

its same stuff as tiger seal/sicaflex. you will have a bad time removing anything stuck with that stuff
