jeffrosie Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Mine is n/a Starlet with 4E-FE.A few different types out there.Choice of 4E-FTE, 5E-FE & 4E-FE CorollaWill the turbo manifold give any gains or will the 5E manifold be better? Some say the Corolla 4E manifold is the ultimate? Quote
drongo boi Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 corolla is the best one imo gives more mid range turque fte one is all top end, 5e one im not sure about Quote
5e colin Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 acis is best if u could switch it with a retractable motor on a rpm switch bar that the tubular corolla as mentioned above Quote
Gainzy Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I have a 5E inlet if you want one will do you good deal Quote
jeffrosie Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 I have a manifold on hold with a member on here and will probably go for that when I get a few more £'s Quote
gorganl2000 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 acis is best if u could switch it with a retractable motor on a rpm switch bar that the tubular corolla as mentioned above i agree with this Quote
jeffrosie Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 1st choice Corolla2nd 4E-FTE3rd 5E Get 5E and have it diy gasflowed? Will the 4E throttle body fit the 5E manifold? Quote
daniel_g Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I have a corolla inlet mani, on my corolla atm, its getting broken the next few weeks. So keep an aye out for a thead. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Older version Corolla engine is fine and newer is broken somehow, got it free. So should I move intake and exhaust manifolds to older engine, is there really so much difference on dyno or real life, waste of time? Doing some fast engine change to my EP70, before turboing 5E. I may put turbo 4E-FTE intake and exhaust manifold to this 4E-FE n/a for testing, so T- manifold is one choise also, biggest gasthrottle.Electrics are not problem, have to do it anyway when going 1E>4E, only few differences. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 And point was has somebody dynoed or are these only feelings? Have You tested those with exhaust manifolds or just intake, because exhaust manifolds are also different. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Thanks Daniel Amazing torgue in Gen2, very stable, but only 85hp :/ Huge difference, very rare. I thougt that Gen2 revs much more that one. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Fuck, found lot of your conversation about inlet/TB, your ukso, thanks So man should go staight to 5E-FTE, very soon I found myself doing n/a engine with 4A-FE TB and exhaust, arg :/ Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I do have exhaust ready, few heads and TB, or should I go SW20 MR2 n/a part swap straight, longer mani etc. By the way tested MR2 3S-GE 318cc high impedance injectors to FTE rail and connectors, bolt on. Way too big for n/a but good for little tuned FTE. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I can take my old exhaust mani flange and try do something exhaustmix if intake side is modified also, first intake.Left Garret T3/4 own fastmade mani and CT12, Garret was on my 5E-FTE years ago. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I have few spare 4A-FE intakes and don't remember what cars these are. So it was time to see if bigger TB's gona fit to few 4E-FE intakes. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 And I also have one extra 4E-FTE tb and one full intake/tb. Both these engines have about same size tb and all tb have same bolt pattern , but flanges are different :/ So I tryed to fit tree bigger tb's to newer Gen tubular intake, didn't fit. And if adding bigger, then there is litlle edge lefting, but only few millimeter. Biggest problem is air channels in tb, right side paper/metall seal don't match. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 FE vs FTE tb, perfect fit, that cast mani also have allready bigger hole behind tb. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 FTE tb between engines. Here man can see tubular mani flange, right side needs more material to fit sealing, so welding is one option, don't wanna hassle more so no thanks. Maybe I just use oem small tb or not. Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Maybe I use normal cast n/a mani and turbo tb for temporaly injection swap to EP70, had anybody tested this combo, maybe with oem cast iron 4-2-1 exhaust manifold or even with welded 4-1 steel mani? Quote
MR-2 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Or should I try to do this 4A-FE 4-2-1 exhaust, so close, needs new flange. Quote
MR-2 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Few intakes, from left EE110, EP91 and EP82 GTMy arse says no for this swap, save your time and money, I have been cheated by n/a lads :/ Quote
