mas12555
next weekend I am collecting a sirion R4 (4WD) gearbox, transfer box, propshaft, drive shafts and whole rear axle.
Ollieh17
Wouldn't need to go much faster than 120 in one of them. 130 in a starlet was awful. Can get a cb80 to rev to 9k pretty comfortably
daniel_g
Interested to see how this goes! Edited September 26, 2016 by daniel_g
richglanzav
i wouldnt go cutting stuff up mate. keep it below 1 liter and get it up to 200bhp. that would be insane with its weight and 4wd
Starlet__SR
Drop a bike engine in the monster. Surely there's. Few done by now?

Starlet__SR
The 660cc kei car engines are cool but forged pistons and rods cost £2000 alone, gearboxes are weaker and the gear ratio on them are so low due to the fact they are limited to 80mph. Spares are a pain for them as well. The 1.3 with the sirion gearbox has a much higher gear ratio, alot less lag, not much more weight and alot easier to get power from. Bike engine hasnt been done in a mira FWD or 4WD. One guy has bolted a charade GTTI to the orignal 4WD gearbox. One other guy has fitted a 1.3 K3-VET into a 4WD with a sirion 4WD gearbox. Found his contact details and he claimed that he hasnt had to cut any chassis legs but needed custom engine mounts, gearbox mounts and gear linkage. The 1.3 swap has been done many times before in a FWD layout.Wouldn't mind a sirion 4wd for winter. What are they like in standard form?
mas12555
Wouldn't mind a sirion 4wd for winter. What are they like in standard form?only have about 100bhp and are about a tonne so they are alright. really good traction and comfy cars. bonus is the 1.3 turbo k3-vet engine bolts into them. The 4WD are quite easy to get hold of but people love to ask silly money for them
mas12555
Well was meant to be getting the gearbox and loads of other parts tomorrow but captain idiot here didnt realise that the breaker was 4 hour drive away so its being couriered to me instead. Also sourced a cheap YRV turbo
mas12555
decided to man up and do the drive today! 500 miles and 10 hours of driving. M6 and M40 was completely f****d so took 2 hours longer. Atleast I got the first pieces of the puzzle! Got the a whole sirion rear axle, drive shafts, prop shaft, gearbox and transfer box. The propshaft is useless and so is the rear axle but atleast I got a spare diff. Also the drums on the sirion are bigger and 4x100 which i nice. Should bolt onto my axle. Sorry for the poor photos. I Also love who the gearbox works. Seems as if the gearbox is the same as a FWD gearbox but the offside of the diff has a male spline so the transfer box can just bolt to the side of the gearbox. Hopefully means spares will be easy! I can get storia X4 transfer boxes from japan which are alot stronger.

mas12555
Done nothing to the car. I am waiting to find a garage/unit I can build the car in. I need a space of my own to do the engine conversion in. Also bought another 1.3 4WD gearbox and transfer box as spares because I am pretty sure at some point I will find the breaking point. mas12555
Not much has been happening with this. Been waiting to get it into a unit before I start serious work. Although I finally payed the shipping to get my spoiler. cost silly money. I am really happy with it. Its a J-mode spoiler.
