JaseTheTaff
Hi guys I'm still new to the site so if this is posted in the wrong place I do apologise I currently have a nice little leak in the windshield right above the drivers side so it's dripping straight on my crotch every time It rains (which in wales is like 98% of the time) after doing some checking online I can't seem to find a price on getting it resealed. Can I get it resealed or would I need to replace the windshield completely? and if I can get it resealed any ideas on price? Cheers
Starlet__SR
Autoglass should be able to reseal the window
JaseTheTaff
Awesome thanks man, Any idea how much they normally charge? or would it be covered by my insurance? I have windscreen cover but I don't know if it covers being resealed as well

JamesD89
Had autoglass bond my rear window in last week they charge £130 for a remove/refit service.
JaseTheTaff
Had autoglass bond my rear window in last week they charge £130 for a remove/refit service. Cool thanks man. I just had a check with them and they quoted me £156 to do the front one. Doesn't seem too steep I suppose.
Starlet__SR
I'd rather pay the £75 excess and get a new screen too lol.
H_D
just throw a stone at it then call your insurance company for a full replacement lol
JaseTheTaff
I'm seeing a pattern here I'm thinking I'll just go with the safe option at the moment. More than anything I've been after a glanza for about 8 years and I finally got on less than a week ago so I don't think I can bring myself to throw a stone at it lol

morgey
£156 to remove and refit? I was quoted £130 for a new screen fitted, that was a few years back mind but still.
JaseTheTaff
A small ball pein hammer will do the job, less likely to miss then lol. Ah yes that seem like a much better plan lol. But it seem I have temporarily fixed it with some sealant from halfrauds. seems to be holding against the rough welsh weather at the moment

Maybe if I rang them they'd quote me different? I'm not sure but like I said above it seems to be fixed at least for the time being so I'll have a scout about and see what other prices I can find. but for now on to the next issue of possible warped brake discs
westie
£156 seems very steep, I had a new screen in my old EP70 fitted for about £50 by an independant specialist.

Hmm I seem to be hearing that a lot from a few friends lately. I'll definitely be looking to go with an independent one if the price is that different. thanks mate
FMuscle
There's always a risk of breaking the old glass when taking it off, a small chip you don't notice plus the tension and movement can crack it beyond repair. To be on the safe side I'd make that a new glass can be brought in fairly quickly if not in stock just to cover your ass. Other than that it's a fairly simple job to do, especially on an EP where there isn't any trims to remove to gain access like a lot of newer cars have. For someone handy, tools and supplies to do the job could probably be bought for under £40.

But first thing I've got to do is make sure it is the windshield. I noticed the black strips across the roof are loose so it might be coming from there. Probably easier to pull the ceiling panel off and see where it's coming from
