shelly_star
Hey guys, i was at a Honda Bluewater meet on Sunday......... yes yes .... Honda meet don't worry i was in my friends EP82 GT as we were there shopping and heard there's a Honda meet in the evening. So we went to have a look, I must say.... they had a really good turnout!! So many people!!BUT the cops turned up and booted everyone out at like 9.30 as they said that there were a few idiots messing around in the carpark (as usual there's always a few idiots) and said that bluewater doesn't want any meets to appear in their car parks again and barriers will be put up in future to stop these kinda meets. So looks like no more Bluewater meets. Rich
Barriers to stop cars entering a carpark... do they detect modified cars or something?
ste91
Nah I'd imagine they just detect the idiots by their chavvy mods "oi you with your halfords accessories, get out"
shelly_star
OI!! no need to be harsh my car is made from halfords stuff

SiCaln
Bluewater is europe's largest shopping centre (at the mo), just outside Dartford, Kent and yea a few people messing it up for everyone
Joey
grrrr I dont think we should stop it though - unless they are gna have constant police about?
montanajr
That sucks...I guess I'll have to stop drag racing on the carpark roof then..
Rich
I think bluewater have recruited a new bunch of security guards aswell...In the winter its where we do work on our cars and had no problem with security, they came over asked what we were doing and we explained and had a good chat with them asking if it was ok do do work on our cars there and they said it was ok aslong as we clear up and don't cause trouble and they went on there way... About a month ago we were doing some rust prevention on my mates celica and this old chap came walking over asked what we were doing we told him and he said we'd better clear up and move on in the next 5 minutes or he'll call the police. We then explained that we have spoken to them before and they said it was fine, he then said we were trespassing and said something about charges so we just moved on
Sparky
Its the same everywhere Im afraid Idiots ruining it for others..... im sure you can find another decent car park in Kent On another note I seen the Honda meet was actually featured in Banzai Looked a real good turn out though
Bourkey
It was only a matter of time.A lot of car clubs go there and the good majority of them behave just like a BMW meet that was there when i went last year. But as always you get dicks messing about and this site and TGTT was a victim of it a few months ago if i remember correctly.Plus you get chavs who spot a load of cars park up and think they can show their Corsas off by flying around. There is only so much Bluewater can accept and they have probably had enough now. Someone may have complained or even worse someone may have been injured. The Trafford Centre in Manchester have a pretty strict policy. Me and Dub were only there a few minutes last week and security came along. The guy was nice but he made it clear that more than 2 or three cars and your're off.Bourkey
Ryno
don't see why they don't hold an official monthly car meet with a entry fee towards charity and a warning that any fucking around will lead to a lifetime ban on the car.could even have a few of them community support officers to make an apperance and as a visual deterrent. not like they have anything better to do!it's been the same all the way through my car years, use to like going to car meets, the Guildford one use to be great with a mix of the american car clubs, domestic and jap car clubs, with big turn outs, friendly atmosphere and a family event with people coming from all over to stand at the side of the road and watch, then F&TF came out and they turned into 'Cruises' which an influx of chavs and mopeds pissing about and crashing lead to any reputable club stopping because of the trouble and the police taking a zero tolerance stance.now it seems like the owner club meets are now being pigeon holed into the whole anti-social aspect and being given zero tolerance
Galliano
i havnt read the essay type posts, but why not just speak to the owner of the carpark ,or the police, and ask for a chance, just say like, if we can get our club meet in the carpark on say 4th of each month, and give them the web address and number of the main meet organiser, and they can go there on the 5th and if theres way too much rubbish they can then kick you out, because im sure you guys are good people and respect where you are parked
paul w
Or go in the day and go "shopping" ;)
Mikey Jay
It's open till 9pm every night except Sunday's anyhoos, so no need to go in the day ;)
StarletRick
not being funny, but if we all go and park up and have a meal (which happens 9 times out of 10 anyway) then afterwards have a natter in the car park, who are they to tell us to move on? the only time the cars are even started is once were all leaving. its probably a case of one or 2 security guards are being jobsworths and abusing what little power they have. well still organise BW meets, dont worry about that. Mikey Jay
If they come along we'll just all go indoors and shop Can't make us leave ;)
Bourkey
That would be funny. 25 people in the same sort of car going shopping and we all bring a car each. Global warming...whats that??? ;)Bourkey
shelly_star
Don't see it happening guys, i mean, when we was sitting outside the garden bit at around 7.30pm, that's when the cars start rolling in, as some people got lost or confused in where they were suppose to go, they made quite a lot of noise with their exhausts lol. But was fun seeing so many Honda's roll in ;)
riko666
so when the Starlet club goes down to Bluewater, you're busy, but when Honduhs go, you're not....Traitor...
