This always happens to me, dunno if it happens to anyone else -

when you give it some beans it doesn't feel fast at all, until the point where you look down at the clocks and realise you're doing 80 when you thought you were only doing about 50?

Or you're just driving along minding your own business no trying to drive fast or anything, but then you realise you're going alot faster than you intended to?

I think the Starlet gives a really false sense of speed

I'd love to have a go in a properly fast car, just to see the difference.

i some times get that aswell mate, i was doing like 30 through the town and managed to creep up to 40-45 witout me realising, it still felt as if i was doin 30 it has happened a couple of times now, so i no wat you ar sayin

Yes I found it picked up speed quicker than you realise. Especially with just a standard back box as it' really quiet. Fun though .

ive noticed mum do that a few times, on motorway mostly in the Paseo, as you pull out to overtake a lorry so you put your foot down slightly to get past.. next thing shes doing 90 and still a BMW on her arse..

i did do that on the way home, although i thought i was doing just over a ton, when in fact we were screaming well over 150mph at 1am, with absolutely no let up. quite scary when you realise how quick you're really travelling.

n/a starlets are slow, and i dont know about other people but, if you get a sat nav my speedo is quite badly out like 100 is really just over 90, 70mph on clocks is really like 64mph.

What size wheels do you have though, wrong size wheels will affect the speedo aswell as having a dodgy speedo lol

all mechanical speedos will be out a certain degree in any case

standard 13" 3 spokers, even when running on 15's though it was just as badly out.

Sounds about right, when i used to have the SR i found that it doesnt feel like its doing what the speedo is telling me. But driving my SR again compare to the glanza, glanza feels soooooooo heavy compare to the SR.
