The Toffinator
Epic choice in tyres man:P and you decided what wheels your going to keep on what car yet?

raffa_mk
You better fill your tyres with nitrogen rather than standard air, trust me it makes a big difference n also good for track as it doesn't expand like standard air does, ;)
Amjad
Big difference in what way? The car won't extensively be tracked so I don't think it'd pay off for me, I usually just plod about town haha. Running out of money now so I don't think its possible either anywayGotta get the suspension set up too and that's another £100 odd there
Liam_D
My old place do nitrogen filling mate!

Running out of money now so I don't think its possible either anywayGotta get the suspension set up too and that's another £100 odd there Here's a few quotes that i have read upon, and that will be of any use, its mainly for track use that i think you will benefit from, my brother has it in his ford SMax 7 seater and has seen a much improvement from the road feedback and he's running on 20" rims, bit more comfortable and better handling when people in car. max is £1 a corner but u should be able to get it cheaper if you know people. Maby some of you guys who have used it could give us your verdict? will be putting it in mine and see how it runs when i get my car back.@ Nitrogen reduces the running temperature of the tyre. The moisture content of nitrogen leads to a cooler running tyre, which is advantageous when the car is operating at its maximum load and speed capacity. @ Nitrogen in tyres improves the ride quality. That gas is very slightly lighter than air and thus, benefits the tires in terms of un-sprung weight. @ It is assumed that Nitrogen increases tyre life. It reduces the operating temperature during times of load and speed and thus, enhances the life of a tyre. @ It is believed that nitrogen keeps tyre pressures more constant. The gas is assumed to provide more stable pressure range in connection to the tyre temperature. However, again, the factor is applicable in times of heavy load/high-speed conditions.@ Tyres are susceptible to loss of pressure as a result of being porous in nature. Due to its chemical structure, Nitrogen leak out slowly as compared to compressed air. Therefore, it slows the rate of pressure loss
Asad
it has its benefits, i had mine filled with nitrogen....didnt notice the difference but it was on a road car...they use it alot in track cars/f1 (constant pressure/temp being the main reason)the main downside to the masses is if at the track or in the event of a slow puncture you need to fill/reduce your pressures (as you found out last time amjad iirc) you wont have any nitrogen to hand..filling with normal air defeats the object. They also have to be fully emptied before nitrogen is put in again...normal air has like 80% nitrogen in anyway....i wouldnt bother just make sure you put some miles on the tyres before taking them to track to rub the release compound off and wear them in a little
Amjad
i still want to know whats in the box.....Patience my friend, all shall be revealed next week ;)Thanks for the words of advice fellas! Looks like it has it's advantages but it's not a cost I can justify at the moment. Also I do like the ability as Asad said to change pressure whenever I like eg for economy runs on motorway, normal use and track use. Also I did actually notice the grip was a lot better after they were worn in, something that wasn't as apparent with the T1Rs probably as they're a softer compound? There's been quite a bit of progress with the car and it should be on track for a big update next week, with big thanks to aaddzz123!Amjad
