BoostJunkie
sorry phil not checked this in a while and just noticed you now have boost BOUT F*****G TIME lol glad to finally see its happened .
Nanglebadger
Dooooooooooooooood!!no need to apologise at all man!!!! yes mate boost is finally in, what a wait but it was totally worth it. so far she's running fine except that she keeps chewing the power steering belts....odd.its now just a case of tidying up little annoying things.and today she is gettin the polish of her life. i've never been one for polishing, a wash with Triplewax and a chamois dry is as much as i can usually be arsed with, but today she's getting:Autoglym bodywork shampoo - two bucket method with a mit, just finished this bit, never done it like that before. shampoo is good gear!Autoglym Intensive tar removerAutoglym Super resin polishAutoglym Extra Gloss Protectionand i had planned to wax ontop of this, only the Meguiars wax i have is a CLEANER wax, and the cleaner removes the fillers from the SRP...PRICK! so i'll have to hunt for something else.now, time to start the tar removal!Phil. Sparky
x3 Lets see her all shiny
Nanglebadger
will try to get some tomorrow lads, she's even been allowed to sit in the garage overnight lol!!!that took me from 10.30am til 9.30 PM to wash, dry, de-tar, SRP, Gloss, and wax her....all by hand, i'm f'in shattered lol.this is the most attention the bodywork has ever had i think, she really needed it. however, i think she may need a proper polisher taken to her. with being so up close and personal with the paint all day, i have found that the nitromores is still present, and has caused some nasty...blemishes...shall we say, but u gotta get up close to see them, no camera will see it.also, in the last week, something has reacted with the ducktail....i mean, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its covered, and i mean covered, in what can only be desribed as SPOTS!!!! little raised spots all over it, and ALL along the lip of it. it is truly shocking to look at. all i can think of is that something, God knows what, has reacted with the gel coat that comes on the replica ducktails and caused it to rise up in these little spots.....really pissed tbh, but, the front end will eventually need a respray anyway, everyone's does lol, so when the time comes i'll have the duckarse done too.ALSO...........................i got my crimbo pressie from mark today....a Pivot Speed Reader! i had told jay i wanted it, esp after that last shit when i got points for NOT speeding....knobs. it will take out any uncertaintity in the stock speedo when i chop and change between the 14s and the 15s, and it also removes the speedlimiter on the FTE, which will be of NO use on the road, but perhaps for Jay's Top Secret Fueling and Boosting Session that he's planning lol!Phil. Nanglebadger
Insurance renewal in, £590. bit more than i expected.so rang them, told them to remove the personal accident cover rubbish of a whole £15 whoppdeedo, thats it down to £575 which is closer to what i had expected. £470ish last year, add on the 20% load of the FTE, and thats not really far off.so, £575 fully comp, 7yrs protected NCB, for an FTE conversion in NI being driven by a male, cant be bad to that really!!!!now, to find somewhere to mount this speed reader!!!!!!!!!!!! and then weejohn can wire it in lol!Phil. Idrees
Not so bad on insurance!
Nanglebadger
no mate, not considering we boosted her! can't really complain!Phil.
LukeSR
Bit of a personal question Phil, but how much did they charge you when you declared the conversion? If you don't want to share on here, no worries buddy
Nanglebadger
no no its fine dude.my insurance, including protecting my NCB last yr was around £470 (£417 or so without protecting the NCB). the way they calculate the conversion premium is simply as a 20% load ontop of the original premium, which in my case would be roughly £94.So, £470 plus £94 is £564. Granted, £575 is more than £564, but i am assuming that the cost of protecting 7yrs NCB over the price of 6yrs NCB would account for the additional £11.Phil.
LukeSR
So £94 with 6 years NCB correct?Cheers for posting it, gives me a rough idea
Nanglebadger
that £94 is simply a percentage of what the premium was WITHOUT the conversion dude. what 20% works out as obviously depends on your own initial premium pre-conversion.the reason i have it so low is all the years NCB and my IAM licence, Flux told me thats why i could get it so cheap. without those it would be a much different story.Phil. Sparky
that took me from 10.30am til 9.30 PM to wash, dry, de-tar, SRP, Gloss, and wax her....all by hand, i'm f'in shattered lol. Thats madness!!! lol Looking ofrward to some fresh pics, shame about the little blemishes on the bodywork though Looking forward to seeing this new toy aswell
Nanglebadger
as requested Sparkdoggydog!front end - one day i think this will get a respray!excuse the wobble, it was darn nippy!and now for this odd bubbling reaction that has occured in the last week, we cant figure it out at all, answers on a postcard please folks!and the Pivot Speed Reader. This should provide a more accurate speed reading, and also removes the 112mph speed limit.Phil.
