Guest Enzo Posted November 15, 2010 Share Posted November 15, 2010 im here at the moment, as the gf isnt here i can go places that i couldent do the times before,any of you guys familiar with the central business district,it makes for mad reading and the whole place is encaptevating, . .. basicaly a short story goes like this,joberg was founded on gold, which led to a prominent skyline in the central business district.when apartide was goin on, if you were black or coloured you were not allowed to stay or work in the central business district .it was reserved for whites onlyso when the apartide fell in the early 90s all the blacks, litteraly over a million flooded the city- a result of this is the majority of landlords abandoning their buildings.all big businesses and banks moved out also and created a new central point/city center for whites 10 miles away called santon city.as the years went buy crime increased rappidly and the cbd became a no go zone, after dark, and at weekends and on holidays the place is deserted and its really some place as a white person would not want to go.i spent two hours driving around the place papping on the sly with my camera + an hour at the top of their tallest building doing thesame, some dude had an ak47 and saw two fights - they fight with big sticks.here are a few pics especialy of the depricationThere were police on every third block doing random spot checks managed to catch one of the fights on camera loland in between all the deprication there were some sky scrapers.when entering this one theres a sign/disclaimer stating that you do so at your own risk lol !its also the tallest building in africa at 50 storysi spent three hours driving round here and only saw two white shouth africans at the top of that tower.
