lukEp
awesome parts here dude. the 85 looking clean to.
Russleh
Thanks guys. I think i might use the ep 85 in the winter for a while just becuase I've done alot more miles in my auris than i thought i would lol but as soon as the days get longer again its flame on for a major stripage and the next step will be off to proper good bodyshop for a new coat and some underseal:). Im not looking forward to that part because i know it will cost alot. I had sent away for a catalogue from a brake specialist for making up full custom braided brake lines but it never turned up andnow i cant remember where i found them lol. Im also going to look into brakes in general as id like to upgrade the rears and i know theres isnt much in the way of an of the shelf upgrade especially for the ep85s. I still need to look into it so expect a thread on here soon but from my point of view should i not be able to put pretty much any brakes onto the back if i just had a custom carrier made up ? brake lines will all be made by me anyway and i was going to get an adjustable brake bias control aswell. that would just leave handbrake cables i think but thats from my point of view and i know nothing of brakes but i just thought that if i can upgrade the fronts to larger calipers etc with no worry about anything to do with a master cylinder then surely the same applies to the rear lol. I sure can ramble on sometimes @shaun - Im super impatient haha i just feel like its going to be worth it but im not gonna lie and say it hasnt crossed my mind to spend 500 on a turbo lump and turbo it quickly haha
_shaun_
for the brake lines i belief joel ( cant rember full user name) can make up any custom braided hel lines u want if u ask him nice enought as he works at ecc. i run the wms kit and its bang on can safely say its saved my ass from a few crashes on the windy country roads down my way def recommend it. i belief keri was looking into the rears but obv there will be a price tag to come with that when the front brake kit provides more than enought for me atm. will be worth the wait in the long run for sure but your gonna need 1 hell of an engine to go with that head u got from gaz
Shahzad
It looks like you have most of the parts, when are you going to start to put it all together?
Russleh
I want to run like full braided lines tho. From master cyclinder to the bias valve n then 1 piece to each caliper. its easy to make up( bar a few bits of braid stuck into your fingers) but i just wanted the catalogue lol. Dont worry the rest of the car will be more than worthy of the head lol. And with head studs it should be good for 2.5 bar. Problem being that my Turbo is good for about 1.5 haha. Extra turbo ? lol jokes. @shaz - I havent even started yet really. It may be ambitious but i plan to replace or refurbish every single part . I know i wont be starting ro assemble anything till i have the next big steps sorted out. Engine wise im talking about a good clutch and flywheel combo , Good management , forged bottom end and front and rear lsds when they become available I think I've decided im gonna buy a fully assembled forged bottom end tho as after reading up and learning how to build engines i realised how many tolerances there are and id like someone with more experience than me to be responsible for the small part thats going to make of break my engine lol
turbo Grant
Properly adjusted drum brakes will be fine. I think ther are some drum upgrades in the pipe line. Shortys been on the case. Can change the size of the slave cylinders pistons. Should be a real weapon when this car is done
Russleh
Ah what a star he is lol i just feel like some sort of upgrade is essential if everywhere else is having one haha. Thanks dude. i know its a long way off but i cant wait to have a starlet that i wont have to drive to work everyday and can enjoy for what i intended and actually get my ass to a jae and loads of other shows lol. Shahzad
It sounds like its going to be a rocket Have you decided on a colour? I would go for midnight blue which are on the 911's http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-tur...t-blue-car.html
Guest Enzo
stear clear of arp starlet ones if your pushing 2.5 bar ive known a few people that have snapped themif your doing it properly you will need some 4age arp head bolts and get a machine shop to remachine the block so they fit,a lot safer that wayin regards to a rear brake upgrade you want to be looking towards an st165 celica as the pcd is rite, wendyson on here has done it to his 4paw loving the progress
