Socks Posted April 5, 2011 Share Posted April 5, 2011 well my glanza is coming on so well it'd be a shame to ruin it by... putting miles on it, parking it in a public car park where its gonna get dented and scuffed and scratched... So ive decided to make the glanza into a weekend, evening, fun toy car so... i needed a work car. obv funds are tight due to the Glanza Progression!So...02 PlateFord Fiesta Freestyle87,000miles3Door1.8 Turbo Diesel7M Mot3m Tax£450!She isnt in bad condition and i know these cars inside out mechanically due to my previous hot car...I loved it... 1.7 Ford Racing Puma Engine, Escort Cosworth Alloys.. Loved it!So my plans for this one...slightly different aproach as i dont need performance, i have the glanza for that... so...Rip interior out, sound deaden the FUCK out of the floors, boot, bootlid, doors, basically anywhere inside...Do a nice, not OTT ICE build. 1 sub, amp'd speakers, dvd-headunit. Conversion to electric windows, etc.Make it a pleasent daily commuter!Lowered, some nice alloys, detango'd lights, de-sidestripped, debadged. etcLooking forward to it! Socks Posted April 13, 2011 Author Share Posted April 13, 2011 My Ghia Blowjob/Maplight Unit arrived Mondeo ST220 Brake Calipers & CarriersThe calipers cost me £30, ST170 300mm Discs are £45 and ST220 Pads are £15...So for £90 ive got monstrous Calipers & 300mm Discs!If only starlets could upgrade the brakes this easy! My Old Doorcards..Ive got some Zetec-S ones which match the seats... They are also electric window ones, and ive got the electric window motors, mechanisms and door looms... So ill be doin the conversion soon Center Console...Gonna be changed for silver Zetec-S Console.. and the scabby steering wheel swapped for a newer ford one.. Socks Posted April 18, 2011 Author Share Posted April 18, 2011 Big thanks to my dad for the following. my funds are all tied up with my glanza atm and i needed new brakes on the fiesta badly, they were dangerous!The Old Discs on the Left & New Discs on Right.240mm vs 300mm!We had to grind loads off the calipers to get them to fit under 15" Alloys, which again are a big thanks to the old man! as they defo werent goin under 14's!you cant even fit a tie rap between the caliper and the alloy haha!quick wash aint even polished it yet! Been working my ass off to pay for glanza! hahaRefurbished my Rear Drums Too in Matte Black!Looks loads better! Needs lowering, but that can wait. Least i can stop now! Safe at last!And Believe Me! It Stops! Ive only had to slam them on once cus some1 cut me up and i was amazed! It would be less painful to actually hit the car i was trying to miss! haha! Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Way more then i need! Perfect mod tho for the money! Needed doin badly!right well i called in at the scrapyard the other week and got myself a silver zetec-s center console and stereo surround! Looks alot better! Just the clock surround to do now!also noticed while i had the center console off is the wiring for the front foglights and the switch is all in place just tie rapped out way! So that could be a future mod!then i de-tango'd the headlights...used a heat gun to melt and soften the glue, opened the light clusters and removed the orange plastic lenses..... Put orange bulbs in and reassemble...Look at a previous picture of the front of the car further up the thread ull see the difference. Alot cleaner!Both cost me nothing, Free! I had a MK5 1.25 Zetec as my first first car before getting the starlet (I was 16 at the time, planned for it to be my first car) and modded it a little bit, detangoed headlights, zetec S 15's, lowered, and I have to say I miss how well it handled (all be it on private ground/carparks, learnt to drive a bit in that car!) .. really miss it but sadly had to sell it cause at 17 I couldn't afford to insure a zetec in my area, gutted!Loving the progress on this though, keep us updated!Shafz.
