BlackTarw
I've heard good stuff about Vredstein tyres http://www.vredestein.com/autobanden/Index.asp?TaalID=3 also the latest version of the goodyear eagle F1 seems to be pretty good going by AutoExpress

gaz
i use eagle f1's they won tyre of 2004 with 5 awards. the most a tyre has won i believe, very grippy but dont know how long they last yet.
lobotomy
Grip = soft compound = short life/tyreI've heard good things about the Nankang NS1's - Nankangs are notorious for being like lumps of coal to drive on but the NS1's are their top of the range sport tyre and are meant to last for ages.Either that or the Hankook Ventus Sport's (think that's what they're called) are meant to be good. starletno1fan
i had toyo t1-s, they have really good grip but they were down really quickly like a bitch.now i have goodyear eagle f1's, excellent grip and they seem to be lasting

SiCaln
Rim protectors? What do they look like?
whitestarlet
where the tyre is mounted onto the rim it sits out jus over the edge of the rim so you cant scuff it as much! good idea!!i had verdistein for a long time and never any complaints with them very good in the wet and dry but wore out pretty quickly!! using uni-royal now for the winter months!!
scutch0
yeah, thats them.i had uniroyals before, they were good, but i couldnt tell how old they were, so no idea on how long they last.Rich.
Guest Enzo
so your looking for a tyres with a hard compaound to last yonks, if thats the case then you can wave goodbye to any decent grip,,, especialy in the wet.id play a happy meedium get some harder compound tyres on the back and softer ones for the front.just a thought bud
