Rob Scott
just stripping the head off at the moment, to change the valve stem seals. been to toyota today to get the bi-hex tool for the head, but they didnt have one.......... and i saw the new 86 in there yesh yesh just arrived this morning. i asked if i could have it to race, and they sponsor me, they say noooooo, but may sponsor th other 86 and paseo.and bad news, the paseo doesnt qualify for stock hatch, its toooooo light. so will go in Supermodified :S so while ive got the head off, its getting skimmed 1mm to up the compression, port and polish the head, and match the manifolds for now.theres no carbon on the pistons, and the bores are mint, so its got potential for a bit of tuning. Rob Scott
hmm, think i'm gonna stick my boat on ebay to pay for some decent suspension.so anyone want a picton GTS 150 14ft speedboat with a johnson electric start 20hp outboard? lolalso seeing as the car has to run in super-mod, i'm gonna either turbo the 5E or put together a 7a-ge 16v turbo but not injection Edited July 2, 2012 by Rob Scott
Rob Scott
got the head back, and just put it back on the engine.put each piston to TDC and rotated the cam shafts to check for any interferance, and there isnt any, even with 1mm shaved off there! so good news is, even if the cam belt snaps, the engine shuld be ok.picked up a new continental cam belt and alt belt for 28 squids from my local auto factors, so once the rain stops, i'll get it all back together, anyone know of any tubular exhaust manifolds for sale?cheeeers
