Ahh thanks for the advise, the gasket might need a slight trimming then?

And what do you mean by tip the valve head? With what? And I'm still going by the standard clearances aren't I with this head?

Right then, we got the head all shimmed up correctly a few days ago, and built the rest of the engine up.

Yeah, ignore the colour of the rocker cover, still haven't decided on the colour!

Well, my clutch was taking longer than expected to come, so we temp mounted the block into the car on Wednesday night and filed the inlet manifold gasket out to compensate for the Stage2 Head.

Thursday the clutch still hadn't arrived, so we fitted the inlet along with all most of the electrics and injectors etc. (Yeah still haven't painted the rocker cover :/ )

IMG_1042.jpg,

Today (Friday) I had 2 nice parcels come through the door!

The first being my new ACT 6 Paddle clutch :)

Forgot to take pics after the box etc etc was fitted..

When I'm back from work tomorrow we'll get the rest of the bits and bobs on, and hopefully fire her up - As long as my oil turns up which I ordered on Monday!!

So, fingers crossed I can drive her to JapFest nice and slowly on Sunday!

Few jobs done today,

first off, sprayed the front mount black;

IMG_0994.jpg

Whilst that was drying..

We finished the engine!

Fired up nice and easy, We just had to adjust the idle and ignition timing and its about there, one problem we found after we took it for a run was the thermostat housing was leaking water. So I've just been took it off, gave it a good clean (and the block) re-sealed it with gasket sealant and fingers crossed its sealed for tomorrow morning (JapFest 2).

Hahaa, yeah I did :)

awwww thats sweat mate i wish i had the money to have this

I haven't got the money, I'm -£4.59 now :/ lol

well done matey credit to your hard graft will be awsome on tdo4 :)

Yeah, I went out in my mates the other day at 1bar and that was awesome!

Update:

My thermostat housing appears to be leaking slightly again, not much but still going to sort that tonight.

Got some sealant off my mate, it's 'Nissans' genuine stuff, he says if that doesn't sort it, nothing will. Going to check that its not warped slightly or something and not sitting flush.

Oh, and the standard spring clips on the rad hoses etc are getting scrapped too as one of them seem to be letting water by slightly. Knew I should have changed them for jubilee clips when I rebuilt it lol.

All good fun!
