shorty
fucking dangerous!!!! should never be done!
shorty
i totaly disagree with that, i have many mates who are mechanics, some work for tuning specialists, I've also spent years tuning/modding cars and I've never ever heard anyone say its anything other than dangerous! why risk your life for a £60 or so set of lowering springs! Nanglebadger
some research into vintage motoring modification or old school hotrods will infact tell you that this can be done, but it has to be done PROPERLY by people who know what they are doing. what do u think they did before shortened springs were available.however, i strongly urge you NOT to do this. as you dont know what you're doing. as stated above, for the sake of £60, its safest to buy springs. i would never recommend anyone to cut them. but as streetracer has already stated, it CAN be done, but it would not be suitable for your SR, it is NOT a practice i would ever recommend for modern day modifying given how cheap parts have become. leave it to those who know what they are doing in the appropriate circles.Phil. adz_sportif_turbo
they are specifically set for the car their going on, even lopping a coil will upset the spring rate. i've been in many a car with chopped springs and the ride is hellish!! if you dont mind the bouncy bob then do it, but i would recommend just purchasing some lowering springs for the sake of £80 lol.
