Steve GT
Shit sorry to hear mateI know the feeling I have many many well established tanks and always keep them clean. Few weeks ago I went out to get some crickets for the beardies not an hour later I got a phone call from the mrs who had just got in from work. Fish were fine when I left but when she got home my jags and oscars were at the top of the tank gasping for air and my red tail shark was dead. It was that quickTurned out i think was ammonia outbreak. I got back an hour and half after I left a perfectly clean well established tank had turned cloudy as hell and was poisoning my fish. 3 hours I stood there pulling water out and keeping fresh going in. All was well after thanks god but just goes to show you it can happen whenever and to whoever at anytime
Nanglebadger
must be something in the air (or water) boys...i have discovered a f**king white spot break out on my blue rasboras and some tetras this evening. WTF! did a clean on the pumps yesterday and a quick glass scraping, so could be a mild stressing from that, although that would be odd.but now i gotta race to the shop tomorrow morning to get some treatment, and there was me wanting to add more glowlights and rummys and tall plants.FAIL boys!Phil. MARC MOSS
This is the new setup
MARC MOSS
Unfortunately it's from scratch but I've added a fluval 205 external canister I bought yesterday instead of the aqua 1 shit... That was a mission to install with the lid that is fitted but hey it's a lot better
Nanglebadger
hope the new filter system prevents any further mishaps for u dude!Phil.
bucketep91
Thought id bump this back up:dHad this tank running for a couple of months, its a shallow 4ft with a 3 ft sump total volume is around 230 ltrsLeft side + right side (hard to get a decent full tank shot with my fone)Only have a wrasse and a clown in atm as my yellow watchman gobie jumped! and so did my male clown:( Needless to say i was fed up with an open top tank so i baught a new hood for it.Ive a new clown fish ordered at my lfs as they dont keep true perculas in stock and i wouldnt settle for a common clown.I also caught the 2 crabs that were causing havoc and there now living in the sump.My water paremeters are pretty stable atm with only a 20% waterchange every fortnight, once i get a holiday out of the way this year im getting rid of most of the corals and im going to start keeping hard corals(sps) Edited February 4, 2013 by bucketep91

bucketep91
Aye its gettin there. I use waterworld aquatics On paisly road west. Im running 4 t5s 2 blue and 2 white. I also have 2 mixed blue and white aquaray leds. Thinking of trying a metal halide tho Those are awesome little tanks is it the 15 or the 30?
Pandamonium
Looks good under the t5 lights. The aquarays are a good job too.I would say to get the best from the sps you will need a big halide, possibly with a few of the lights your running at the min.Cool, ill have to pop in there. Have you been in aqua parade at all? It's only the 15 but its just to keep me in it till I can afford to do the a bigger one etc
bucketep91
Aye aqua parade is like 5 mins from my house, i deliver tanks for them. They are a decent little shop but i only buy things from waterworld as the owner is a mate of mine and he will go out his way to help me out and get me what i need. Very cool little tabks those mate got a couple of wee frags here u can have if your passing glasgow give me a txt;)
Pandamonium
I'll have to go for a nosey in waterworld too. They are a great tank but that's the issue, getting corals have to be frags cause most of what shops sell are too big, bit of a pain.Cheers mate, I'm up 2mo but its during the day unfortunately
bucketep91
If your heading to waterworld id leave it till friday, he will be getting a delivery tomorow and stock is running quite low. Theres a few shops on paisley rd west but im never in them so dunno if there any good lol Theres a dobbies with a marine section at braehead too.

Arnold
Didn't know there was a fish thread on here. I've got two tanks, one now for sale. My first one is a 240 Litre Fluval Roma with External Eheim filter, which I've had for about 6 years featuring several clown loaches, albino shark, with corys, tetras, a 12 inch pleco, sword tails, mollys, plattys and barbs. Possibly others. One day a water change wiped out most of my stock, and many other established tanks across town according to local specialists, so there was obviously something unknown in the water supply. I've since moved house and downsized to a Fluval Roma 125 tank, featuring many of the same fish just smaller size. The old Fluval 240 is now for sale if anyone is interested Pictures to come soon
