hey adam,

we generally run slightly higher compression than usual. 9.5:1.

we have a couple of mistu Evo track cars we've done for customers running much higher compression. can run on race fuel though.

Ill go 4e full ballanced with 5efhe full head flat roads here no torque needed as i dont have to pull anything uphill

Best setup i think except spec'ed cam setup.

Can a 4e rev faster?

Posted

Quite an old thread this haha

Settled on a stage 4 4E in the end with head work and cams, will be interesting to see what power I make

Posted

But there a more corners then straight on a track so power isnt everything...

Very true mate but she's not a track slag just a weekend power house with occasional track usage

Posted

Ok i know more power is awe but to go back ontopic your choosing 4e also

Shall it rev better?

F1 engine's are designed with the shortest rods...

Depends on the spec of the engine, wouldn't say a 4E will rev better as its been proven a 5E can rev to 9000rpm. F1 engines are designed to have a greater bore:stroke ratio.

Ah this is an old thread man !!

I settled on a Stage 4 4E, cams, headwork ect....... Currently getting mapped on a DTA at racetech with a gtx3071r

Posted

You'll make plenty of power on that setup, but that seems to be all your after so will serve you well :D

Hit the Nail on the head there buddy, you know my plans I want that 400 figure

Posted

I've heard rumors that its a little over productive so I've booked it in with a guy I know after jae just for a couple of power runs

You will get that easy on the race tech Dyno, might even hit the big 500!

Let me just bring to your attention a few results and points Mr D.....

Firstly. string and aaddzz123's starlet GT's...

String pulled 242.9bhp on Monster Motorsport's Dyno before TD bought it off them... (Dyno Dynamics Roller)

aaddzz123 bought the turbo kit off String, and got his car mapped on another bone stock 4efte on the same ecu, and pulled 242.3bhp...

Secondly, Hawwy's Glanza....

Hawwy bought a black glanza from hough39....

Spoke to hough39, his car pulled 313bhp at 1.3bar on a dyno dynamics roller

It went into to race-tech and pulled 303bhp at the same boost and on the same map...

Thirdly, ro55ifumi

When he was running a ct9... Pulled 186bhp on a Dyno Dynamics Roller

Then went on to pull 188bhp on Race-Techs dyno at the same boost pressure....

Forthly, My Own Glanza.....

Back when I was running 1.4bar of boost on a pretty much identical turbo kit to yourself Matt. I made 344bhp.

You made 330bhp? At the same boost? Which is not bad for a forged 5e with a standard head...

Lastly...

Are you telling me Ryan-11, Mark1991, Browner's cars are all not believable figures being over 340bhp...?

Tbh, I couldn't give a monkeys what my car or anyone elses car pulls on any dyno, there a tuning tool.

However I don't think the margin your talking about exists, or if there is a margin it certainly isn't as big as you sound like you want it to be!

Same as me azz :)

Td versus Racetech right there Jamie, although from our convo's are needs are a little different, will be good to see tho

Looking for another forged engine and having a debate with myself about it !

What are the pro's and con's of the 4E AGAINST A 5E?? Vice versa

WHICH IS BEST ???

cheers Aaron

They just don't rev like the 4E and the peoples faces when you tell them its only a 1.3 that's just priceless

Fair point...

Im not about to say that combined with the right flywheel and clutch it'll rev even nicer. But then not many would shell out for the ECC clutch kit.

Maybe one day ehh.
