Ry4nL23
Youve shot yourself in the foot mate..Should of tried to come to some sort of deal first before considering insurance..Should of had a new wing sprayed and fitted.. and for the hassle a few tidy up jobs while its in the bodyshop
Fozzie
My car got written off a week or two ago, in order to keep it I just had to lose the nominal 'scrap value' from my payout, which was only £100 according to them.It was definitely worth losing the £100 as the car is obviously worth several times that in parts! yaristurbo
It's never just a wing it's body shop prep time, material costs blending onto other panelsSticking a 2nd hand wing on is cheap and cheerful but it may have looked a dogs rod
russ78
if you need a 1AO glanza wing give me a pm i can hook you up
daniel_g
Going through insurance is the last thing id ever want to do, seems much easier to just settle it between yourselves. Unless you get offered 20 quid, in that case i think id have to smack a bitch haha
Hou
And not only have you had your car written off, you have now put your future insurance up for a claim even though it is a non-fault one!
shavnh
You can ask about buying it back, but it would need to be insured as a write off which is generally more expensive
PaulStarletSR
im really strugglin to understand how its a write off for the sake of a WING.i would have shown her wing prices on ebay then bought 1 off here and kept the difference. silly man
DavidAshton
Going through insurance is fine. When my silver Glanza got wrote off they made me an offer, I said no, its worth more, sent in some pics of it looking all nice and clean, stated its rareness and the fact the nearest one for sale was over 50 miles away and sent in some over priced adverts for other glanza's. In the end they agreed on £3750 which was £50 less than i payed for it 3 years ago!I then bought it back off insuance for £750, meaning they just pay out £3000, stripped all the modified parts off sold the engine and damaged shell for £600. I sold all the modified parts and made around £1500 I also put a whiplash claim in that paid out £2600.I then bought a newer better spec Glanza for £3750 meaning I was £3950 up!My insurance premiums all stayed the same as its none fault.Just be sensible and dont let insurance rip you off. DaveyDemolition
As you weren't in the car they can't look any differently on you etc, it was nothing to do with you like so I hope your premium doesn't go up, it shouldent be scrapped though!!

dangeestarlet
they said it wont affect my insurance and i spoke to them today and i can buy it back for scrap value but needs to go for a vic check so anyone got a passenger side wing for sale? prefferably red as i got a red one now and not the one in my picture. Hou
They say that but try a quote for next year both declaring it and not and bet it changes, and you have to declare it sadly! massively annoying
dangeestarlet
Im on a traders policy with the company i work with, and i aint declared my points on that
Johnboy GT
Not to be a cunt but not declaring your points is hardly a clever thing either! John
Hou
Im on a traders policy with the company i work with, and i aint declared my points on that So if you had a crash on their policy that was your fault they could void the claim due to not declaring points, insurance will find any way to now pay out
dangeestarlet
butt i already had insurance before i had the points and i really didnt want to tell my boss tbh
Fozzie
they said it wont affect my insurance But everyone else's went up ^Tru dat! I just checked my insurance, as some old dear went up the back of my car at some traffic lights. She admitted full liability, her insurers rang me and sorted the payout, courtesy car etc.I did a check for my insurance on a comparison site yesterday and my quote on a GT Turbo was £700 with no accident declared and £775 with it on there as a non-fault incident. Chin up lol :/ Edited September 13, 2012 by uberphil88
Hou
Ok, but look at it this way, which sounds better:"Hey boss, sorry but I have points, it shouldn't make your policy go up""Hey boss, just had a bump, oh and I forgot to mention I have points and the insurance is void so you are liable for it, thanks for my P45"
dangeestarlet
True, i should tell him, i wish i just repaired the car myself and left it at tha, and when i do fix the car it will be a cat c and be worth pennies
