ali_legend Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hi guys I'm not much of a cleaning car guy, infant after 5 mins I get bored and walk off so this is what I'm after, Basically a want a full wash, door shuts, bonnet and boot struts cleaned with all purpose cleaner, alloys clayed and hand polished, sealed. Then paint clayed, polished to remove swirls and light scratches then followed up by sealant (important you don't use wax on a white car as it is likely to come up yellowish) price? Thanks you Quote
pick1 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Why not wax matey ? I have a white gt and I find that say meguires liquid gold class or dodo juice diamond white gives it a deep glossy wet look shine, and off the top of my head I would say some1 is likely to charge £50 upwards mate for a top job but I could be wrong Quote
Hou Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Polished to remove swirls will be machine polished so might be more. I would do it if you were nearer Quote
Keenoep82 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 No point using wax on a white car anyway. Not because it comes up yellow, just because you can't get "depth" on light paint so may as well use a sealant instead... Quote

Liam_D Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Add a lad called CCX Detailing on Facebook, or failing that add Jay Martin from my friends list on FB sure he'll be happy to help you dude. Hes a good friend of mine and a detailer Quote
AdDaMan Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 lol some of the info in the first few post is balls deep.Seriously, go on detailing world and you will find someone near you who actually know what there talking about ;) Quote
Amjad Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 lol wut.Something I've read on detailingworld a few times.Go for the guy from EPCivic if his results are good, or judging from how clean Liam's cars are I'm sure his mates will do a good job Quote
LukeSR Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 I've waxed my white car about 50 times and never has it gone dull or yellow.. It actually deepens the shine? Quote
Amjad Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Might be dependent on the amount of carnauba present I dunno. It wouldn't dull the shine but make it appear a less crisp white from what I've read. Either way sealants last longer Edited October 4, 2012 by Amjad Quote
Bildo Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Sorry, but I completely disagree with the "yellowish" and "won't see any benefit from wax on white" comments.Sealants can provide their own finish anyway, so I wouldn't say don't go down that route. In fact, if you wanted a sealant you sound pretty lazy so you might aswell spend a bit of money, use Ceramishield and get 2-odd years protection. Quote
