I have been looking for an EK9 for quite some time now and managed to get my hands on this 2000 plate RX with 102,000 kms on the clock, roughly 80,000 miles. Im very impressed with the ek9 it is by far nicer to drive than any car i have driven before smile1.gif I bought the car because for a 1.6 they dont half shift and they're well known for their reliability and bullet proof engines.

The mods on the car when i bought her:

-Tanable Concept G 2.25" exhaust system

-Skunk2 inlet manifold and 70mm throttle body

Modifications that i have already carried out are:

Meister R coilovers

Adjustable decat pipe 2.5" and Lower Control Arms

5Zigen manifold

Found a Blitz airfilter in the garage to temporarily put that on

She's lower than this now this was taken just after we fitted the coilovers

Other mods that i have planned:

-Mugen airox

-Hondata S300

-New rocker cover, B16A2 rocker cover on a B16B is not cool!

-Spoon N1

I have misty headlights that i don't think can be brought back to life so going to be on the lookout for new ones, the front bumper is also stone chipped so going to get that re sprayed along with a full mop and polish on the car.

Eventually i will also be purchasing a set of JDM wheels, unsure yet - you know the score though, Enkei/Rays/Reggamasters/Sprintharts etc.

Couple of pictures before she was lowered

These are very nice, the Rx is the lightweight one iirc, no spare wheel etc ? The engines are only as good as the driver haha, a lad i know blew his up doing drag racing at crail. Oil pump shat it lol.

There is a lightweight model available too mate, generally the RX came with all the optional extras so was slighly heavier such as air conditioning, elecric windows & folding mirrors etc.

Ouch thats unlucky, fingers crossed this one will be fine she doesnt use any oil anyway :)

Always loved ek9s :) this one looks clean and look forward to seeing what you do with it :)

Thanks mate, tempted to go for some sick wheels and mad camber but that defeats the object of my 'daily' lol

I looks Good buddy. Although. I'm Pretty sure the Type RX is the Lightweight version. IIRC it doesn't have A/C or a Radio and a few other bits BUT they were optional extras. The RX is suppose to be around 50kg's lighter than a standard type R

There is also a Motorsport version, similar to are poverty spec Glanza. It had the type R chassis, engine, brakes, suspension but came on steels. had no radio, a/c, abs, power steering, keep fit windows no recaros ect. which made it much cheaper then the normal type R.

Alot of people seem to think that too mate, however the RX was actually 1090kgs oppose to 1050kgs so was the heaviest EK9 made, it comes with electric folding mirrors, A/C, different carbon centre console, electric windows, aluminium sports pedals. Even though these were optional extras on any EK9 apart from the one you mentioned which was a lighter more affordable version :-)
