Mike@TD.co.uk Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Afternoon folks, We've had a few requests for an ABS removal kit, just wondering if it would be something that some of you guys would be interested in? Would be a replacement kit that can be fitted by most people with basic mechanical knowledge, supplied with braided hosing and fittings etc. Just after peoples thoughts on it and whether it is worth doing Cheers Mike JonesTuning Development s Ltd
_shaun_ Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 id be interested but depends on price buying the bits from toyota doesnt cost that much
Azz Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Really intrested in this Mike, I've stripped all mine off and was just about sort all the copper pipe out but would love braided lines ! Again on the price tho its only around £20 max for the parts with copper pipe so will be intresting to see what the cost would be with braided
Beastmode panda Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 As all the guys above said, and price?
Mike@TD.co.uk Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 Ok guys, will work out costings and see how it goes Cheers Mike JonesTuning Developments Ltd
Got.boost Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Mike you know I want one when my car comes up :-)
daniel_g Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Interested too, stripped the ABS off and really want braided hose to replace it.
Vincent-ep91 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 interested too, could finally remove all that crap that no longer works... Depending on price of coarse
scoobykilla Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Interested in this too as want to get the engine bay decluttered. Would remowving the ABS not cause troubles at MOT time??
Malcolm GT Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 As above what about MOT time?Otherwise I'd be in
daniel_g Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 If its not there you cant test it, i believe. You'll need to remove the bulb or put a resistor in the turn the light off. The braking efficiently will probably improve without ABS.
Chris_14a Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Easiest thing todo would be to remove the bulb and the abs unit wouldn't be there so no MOT issues.
daniel_g Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Or put a bit of duct tape over the outside of the clocks where the light is if you dont wanna take it out. MOT tester cant remove the tape to fail it.
A L 3 X Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Can I ask the reason for removing ABS? I find my ABS is too keen on some junctions if theres a bit of gravel there and i find when it kicks it doesn't seem to do a great deal? Would braking be better without it?
berry Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I would be another interested in this Cheers Ryan
Simon Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I would price up the parts from Toyota Mike, you will still need some from toyota even without the lines. Might be worth just offerining the kit from toyota
webby Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I did mine with all custom braided lines and fittings cost me about £100 its looks good in the bay after
