on a budget in time for japfest and i keep seeing either a rear set, or a front set for sale. i'm not really clued up in this area, so i was wondering if it's an advantage or disadvantage to mix coilovers, say tein's at rear and d2's on the front for example? or would there be issues with spring rates etc

For a temporary fix to put the car on its hoop for a show, then go for it.

If you were wanting to set the car up for track etc. then it might not be the best idea.

As long as the rear is or can be adjusted softer than the front, the same with spring rates.

Hard on the rear will make it skitty as hell, especially if your stripped out. But other than that it should be fine

Wouldnt be an issue with this...

Mixing left and right is a bit no no tho!

2nd This, I used to run Tein coils on the rear and stock up front and that was spot on, its no different to driving around with a boot full of bricks or a empty boot it will just change the characteristics of the drive a bit.

thanks for the response guys, there's a set of tein rears on here which the adjuster rings don't move much, are they worth a punt for 75 quid, as it sounds like an easy enough fix, or shall i put out for now?

I'd save the hassle and just have a tidy set for peace of mind. You're keeping the car for a while I presume, get a new set with warranty etc.

yeah man, it's just gonna push me right in my overdraft as my next loan will be covering my house rent for summer, interest free decisions haha
