Amjad
GT's really testing my patience now.. Just took it to get alignment checked with the Meisters on, and this was the spec sheet Everything is generally not too bad and can be brought in, EXCEPT the front right TOE They said that it's beyond what they can bring in on the track rod ends due to running out of thread on them. I just had them replaced with new track rod ends the other day. What can I do? For those that don't know, the car was a CAT C and had damage to the front left side. The extent of the visible damage was only the wing, headlight, and some of the panel behind the light. These were all replaced and professionally repaired along with a new front chassis section from toyota. But it was suggested this impact have damaged another component on the car suspension or subframe wise. I'm hoping the problem is due to bent wishbones? But you can't really tell whether they are or not so.. Any help greatly appreciated guys, I really wanna get this sorted after the time, effort and money I've poured into this car. If I can't then I'll be forced to break it Amjad Edited June 25, 2013 by Amjad
morgey
Couldnt they set the right one out further and re center the steering or die the left one so it has thread further up and cut the end off allowing it to go in further?
Foggy
I bought a gt with a lot more damage than that. I was able to track it no prob. And it got at least two hits before. It did love the ditches lol http://s41.photobucket.com/user/sfoggy/media/gt2.jpg.html'>
Jhandy
Exactly what morgey said. Chip the end a bit. And get it threaded further up
Amjad
Don't really understand what you guys mean, not too technical myself :L I'd have thought that if there was a way of doing it they would know? Also been reading about inverted track rod ends? No idea how they work but apparently they might help to counter excessive toe?
Jhandy
Basically u take the track rod end off. Cut down the inner arm with the thread on it. That way it will go into the track rod end more.
Socks
My guess is a bent bottom arm...
Asad
could be that the inner tie rod is bent, id start there as its not going to cost you anything....track rod off + boot off and get a straight edge and put it along the inner tie rod IF thats ok and the steering rack bushes arent shot it leaves the wishbones/chassis damage you can swap over/compare the wishbones to you N/A...if you start messing with the wishbones you open up a whole new can worms in the way of the captive nuts so id try and eliminate everything else first and ensure you have a plan B Edited June 25, 2013 by Asad
Amjad
Could it have anything to do with top mount setting? The camber is very positive on there
00joeindastarb0
They do all affect one another which is why you go Camber, Castor, Toe when setting, but I wouldn't think its to that high a degree can you not compare/poach parts from the NA see if anything's out of shape. Asad
http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?104592-Camber two of the bolts should be far back
Amjad
I am a retard. Have installed the top mounts the wrong way LOL
Amjad
Left side:http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/20130625_152708_zpsb2d25666.jpg.html'> Right (dodgy toe) side:http://s56.photobucket.com/user/lowrida786/media/20130625_152653_zps668525e3.jpg.html'> So all I need to do is undo the 4 bolts, and spin round the top mounts 180 degrees right? Jhandy
I think there should be a "FAIL" section on this forum lol. At least it's an easy fix
Amjad
Okay reallllly hoping this sorts it! I hold my hands up, big fail. I thought everything was going too well yesterday lol Edited June 25, 2013 by Amjad
akyakapotter
Surely you don't need I turn it 180 just undo the 4 bolts with the car jacked up and center it like the other side sorting camber out as where you have it must have positive camber ?
Amjad
I've seen pics in the link that Asad posted, and apparently the allen bolts should be closer to the firewall than how I have them now?

Jhandy
Is it split. To the extent that it can let dirt in. And grease out?
