kavan-k
Seen a guy in my shop today with a limited edition ( or do he says, i dunno the difference ) is200, was low as fook with grid v's and looked awesome, then he started it and took off, sounded immense! Wouldn't mind one as a daily, anyone owned/own one? Are they any use? Or an altezza maybe? The noise has made me want one, it really did sound the dogs danglys! Haha
shorty
They did some with a beams engine in that where supposed to be faster or something. And from what I've heard the a little thirsty for what they are. But look smart imo.
kavan-k
Yeah they are a tidy car, and pretty cheap atm too! Rwd fun too!!
Addymk2
My old Altezza, had a boosted one too. Can't recommend them enough, they're a bit thirsty when your giving them death (3SGE and its 8kish rev limit) but as a daily they're comfy, quick enough and predictable. IS200's are better for Turboing though if you wanna go mental!
Josh@TunerLifestyle
I've been looking at is 250's recently
kavan-k
Looks class! Im really really tempted! Id say it will get treated like a slut about once a week so it should be fine whats the 250's Josh?
monty1991
i had a altezza for a few months, class car to drive but it was hard on the juice, 220bhp beams engine had loads of trd goodies too, the sideways action was unreal from it too! would deff recommend one! dont bother with the uk is200's there very underpowered with the big lazy 6 cylinder! the altezza has a 4 cylinder 3sge tuned by yamaha! miss it thats why ive bought a s15 project
kavan-k
I am really going to look into one, seems like a lot of car for the money! Will keep you all posted
Addymk2
It is mate; I've still got bits for sale on the cheap off my blew up boosted one if your ever in need lol
kavan-k
Haha no bother buddy, as long as its not the blew up stuff was looking at the trd kits for them, nice kit that!
Addymk2
That was a factory option, if you go see one make sure it's a Z edition, they came with the diff etc. most of them have the TRD diff, an Altezza AS200 is the same as a UK spec IS200. Standard suspension is a bit boat like mind you lol
Addymk2
On another note, that Altezza and my red V are 2 of the only cars I properly regret selling: my mate bought the Altezza off me so I still see it every day at work FFS!
kavan-k
Thanks for the help mate hopefully find something suitable and decent! White is my colour of choice atm, or the blue! And i sold my white v to a friend, breaks my heart seeing it
starletburkie
I've an altezza 2.0 4cyl beams engine! The only engine to have out of all the altezza a and is200s in stock form! Nice comfy car IMO I was told not to buy one by a few people but I like them! Edited September 12, 2013 by starletburkie

Addymk2
This is epic looking http://bit.ly/16G1BOBJamesThat's pretty much the same engine spec as the old blue one I had! Awesome motors! The IS300's are worth a punt aswell, it's basically an NA supra lumpOn a nother note, a 1UZFE conversion isn't too hard aswell. jimmymac101
Semi auto though or do they come in manuals?
daniel_g
Is that the wagon type, IS300 ? They look awsome.
H_D
The only way forward for an IS200 is to 2jz it http://www.japanesesportcars.com/galleries/data/media/64/Toyota_Altezza__Lexus_IS200_2JZGTE1.jpg Edited September 13, 2013 by H_D
Addymk2
Is that the wagon type, IS300 ? They look awsome. The wagon type is the 'SportBack'. They do look the tits, I really like them! Majority of those are IS300's. Saloons are generally imports. A slammed and boosted sportback would be shit hot.
kavan-k
It would be my first rwd car too lol is there ever much bother when it comes to the engine or can they take a good bit if wreckin? Seen a blue supercharged one on gumtree but it had a ghastly body kit on it lol a supra engine in one and i would live for a day in it, would definitely park it in a wall! HahaThe only way forward for an IS200 is to 2jz it http://www.japanesesportcars.com/galleries/data/media/64/Toyota_Altezza__Lexus_IS200_2JZGTE1.jpgThat is sexual! HahaThat is sexual!I think it was my 1st RWD car too, they're fairly bomb proof, the coil packs are prone to dying! Brown ring of death and a £100 bill later! I had 3 of them go in a year. Aside from that they're solid. They don't take well to anything over a bar of boost generally unless they're perfectly mapped, high compression ratio etc.YouTube the blitz supercharger they sound insane and work on a clutch, so they're only active when the pedals more than halfway depressed to save fuel! kavan-k
That^^ sounds like something out of forza! Want want want!!!!!! Haha id say it will be left basically stsndard engine wise at the start anyway, big silly exhaust and a set of coilys! Then look into buying one of them bad mofo's!!^ lol
Starlet__SR
The IS200 6 pots are pants for boost, bottom ends have been known to let go as little as 7psi boost. They're very expensive to forge aswell. Better off going for an Altezaa RS200 with the 3SGE BEAMS engine.Day
