k-sport, WMS, and yes you can get D2 brakes

me WMS with DS2500. really good setup. need to rebleed and could do with grooved discs to stop them squeaking but they are fantastic when abused!

I've got wms 4 pots now, which i really like with ds2500 pads. had a glanza set up before on brembo pads which were a good upgrade on the standard n/a breaks too :)

Get glanza/later gt calipers and carriers. 256mm

Yellow stuff pads, mintex 1155's, ferrodo Dd2500's budget allowing.

Wms heavy duty discs 110%, 256mm

Dot 5.1 fluid or motul RPF600 fluid. And bleed all the old stuff out.

Master cylinder stopper (not a crappy tegiwa one though)

Braided lines

The last 2 are optional but you could do the whole lot in one go. This will be plenty for an n/a for road use and even light track work.

Lots of track days you will want a setup with thicker discs which means Celica or Levin calipers and different discs etc

So my mk1 calipers and pads are smaller than a glanza and same as my n/a ones ?

I'm not sure of the change over dates but quite possibly yes.

There's 3 different sizes I've seen.

Typicalt are

238mm most n/a's and some early gt's

256mm later gt's and glanza, some late n/a's are also rumoured to have these.

Solid front discs (not sure of size) no caliper carrier so caliper bolts directly to the hub. Would possibly need to convert hub to upgrade brakes.

Anything that uses radial mounts can be made to fit, Brembo, AP, Tarox etc.

i need more info on this stuff, i fancy a second hand set of quality calipers and making a setup for myself.

i can warrant the price of new gear when my car doesnt get alot of use.

Agree with the above there are some fantastic brake upgrades available like wms 4pots and k-sports but they are big money there could do with being a middle ground when it comes to the brakes for these cars as even upgrading discs and pads on the stock set up can't take much abuse

Can get ST185 Calipers for next to nothing

Disks £60

Then abit of custom work to get the disks machined which dont cost much

Then the cost of pads

Im running ST185's, machined disks, couple of spigot rings and away you go!

Shockingly good compared to the Glanza set up i had before......can late brake all my mates into corners and they give you so much confidence!

Not done any track days so cant really comment on fade, but for the cost of putting this setup together you cant lose!

cheers I need a better set up definatly don't the race pads squeak? Its a 96 glanza not sure if its abs or not if this matters, so I get wms discs and decent pads sorted?
