Scoobysvx
Well with the help of my friend Paul & my dad I finally got the 4efte out of the 4paw... Yet again This is going to be the last time! Whilst it's out the engine bay is going to be painted, abs gone, pas pump mounted out the way somewhere all ready for the forged engine For now I just began cleaning up some parts ready to refit to the completed engine Dirty Bolts Zinc Coated 5E Crank Here's where the real work begins, my dad went to town on the gearbox!! 😀 I think it's safe to say I've got the cleanest 4paw box & transfer box around The crank has been measured, tested and polished ready to go off to the engine builder
Scoobysvx
I managed to pick up my crank today from the engineer, he gave me the all clear 😊 he also gave it a light polish too! Also received my head gasket, Arp head bolts and low temp thermostat from TD
Scoobysvx
The pace should be picking up now! I'm waiting for a few parts to turn up from TD for the 5e still. The block, crank and head are with rob Barnard now who will be building the engine, I'd be hoping to get it back mid July and fitted by the end of July.Got a few goodies turn up in the mean time...Apexi Powerfc... The EMB would have been out of its limits with the injectors I'm playing to useAnd a fensport crank pulley as the old one chipped into a million pieces!!
Scoobysvx
After the longest wait ever i finally got my bits back from the polisher! I got a few bits welded while it was there but it should brighten up the bay a bit 😎And the rest of the part for the 5e. Oil & water pump. Gasket set. Timing belt kit and x5 oil filters

Scoobysvx
Not a great deal has been done lately but the engine has been with rob for 3 weeks now so I'd be hoping to get that back within a couple of weeks! Purchased a few more parts...Purple rad hoses as I had to sacrifice my bottom hoses for my dailyPicked up another FPR cheap as mine had a cracked glass & I think the black will suit the bay better than blueAnd got myself a OEM rear strut braceI need to crack on really over the next couple of weeks...Remove ABSPaint engine bayFit saxo pump & linesFit x4 CV bootsSwap wings overGet bumper sprayedFit skirtsFit gauges into dash and get it flockedFit seats
Scoobysvx
My manager thought he could sneak these on the scrap tyre pile without me seeing 😂I'll put these on my spare set of wheels and use them if I do any track days! There's 2 215/50/15 and only one 205/50/15 atm... He said he'd have a look to see if he could find the other one tonight 👍

Scoobysvx
Yeh that's what I'm hoping 😆 Id hate that right after its built, It'd be costly & time consuming getting another!
Scoobysvx
Finally I have some much overdue updates! 😄New engine & gearbox bushesGot myself a filter kit for the td04, that should do a better job than the mesh I had before!I got rid of the old bushes out the mounts, cleaned them up and gave them a lick of paint before fitting the new bushesNow the peice I'm most pleased with... Carbon fibre bonnet 😄 It's recently been re-lacquered so it should be good to go on straight awayNext I thought I'd respray the engine bay while the engine was away being built. So I began to strip everything out and most importantly ditch the horrible abs! Here's how it ended up! Not to everyone's taste I know but it's much fresherI got lots of other stuff painted while it was off too, scuttle panel, wiper arms, various brackets, servo & wiper motorI had to drop some more bits down to rob to finish the engine off and I came just in time to get some photos! Forged Pistons & rods fitted! He balanced the crank, pulley, flywheel and clutch and rebuild the head to standard spec. A full engine spec list will follow! And finally this weekend I went to pick up the fresh engine and began the process of refitting everythingFitted the engine mounting bracket, timing belt cover and alternator I then fitted the injectors which rob had cleaned, rebuilt and flow tested along with the polished fuel railI also paired the engine with the gearbox and my dad fashioned some brackets so it could be wheeled around on a dolly until it was ready to back into the carGot the polished inlet manifold fitted too although it needs more work in certain areas!Hopefully I should have some more updates in the next few days if the weather brightens up 😊
Pikey009
Absolutely epic, love the purple. Would have loved to have seen it stay a total sleeper but I think to a degree it still will be with people thinking its a glanza. Fantastic attention to detail
Socks
Jaw. On. Floor. I hear alot of people tell me stuff... Im going to do this. Im going to do that... Then i see a breaking thread or the car go up for sale... However... Your persistence on this weapon is truly stunning and its quickly becoming a work of art!Keep up the hard work lad! Jealous I parted with it now!
Scoobysvx
Thanks for the kind words! Yeh I'd imagine quite a few people would have loved to see it stay a sleeper too but I couldn't resist, I love the look of a GlanzaHaha thanks Matt! Yeh I have to admit I did feel like giving up earlier in the year, didn't realise how much work was really involved. But having the engine back now I've got a new love for it and can't wait to be driving it again! Edited September 21, 2015 by Scoobysvx

Scoobysvx
Cheers Flynn 👍Yeh unfortunately Charlie, rob seems to be mega busy lately! My engine was with him for 3 months in the end
RobSR
Good stuff, nice to see someone else taking the time to do things properly
Scoobysvx
I managed to get a few things done today, I started by fitting the brake reservoir and most of the abs delete kit which I also painted purple as I didn't think the copper would go too well 😂 Unfortunately I forgot to do the union so I'll have to take that off tomorrow!Got all the vac and water pipes in too, and the transfer box bracket in placeAnd now the reason why my shinny rocker cover isn't fitted... I decided to drill out the baffle so I could clean it properly and I'm glad I did after seeing what was inside!Looking like new and ready to be welded back on 😊And lastly I blew the dust off the turbo kit and separated the turbo so I could get it sent off to be rebuilt
Calum122
Bloody amazing mate! Thank god you checked that rocker cover mate, that would have destroyed your engine I don't want to repeat what others have already said but...absolutely stunning job mate. Hats off to you! Scoobysvx
Thanks Calum, appreciate that!Unfortunately I haven't managed to get the engine in just yet due to working every weekend but I have begun to tidy up the loom in the engine bay and mock up my PAS set up. Also sent my turbo off to Liam for a rebuild and I was over the moon with there service! He removed the internal waste gate and swapped the housing over for one he had lying around 😊Decided to clean up the intercooler and radiator a little bit too... Excuse the carpet 😂Cheeky Slr popped into work! Hopefully I can crack on this weekend and get the engine in
