Well with the help of my friend Paul & my dad I finally got the 4efte out of the 4paw... Yet again

This is going to be the last time! Whilst it's out the engine bay is going to be painted, abs gone, pas pump mounted out the way somewhere all ready for the forged engine

For now I just began cleaning up some parts ready to refit to the completed engine

I think it's safe to say I've got the cleanest 4paw box & transfer box around

The crank has been measured, tested and polished ready to go off to the engine builder

The pace should be picking up now! I'm waiting for a few parts to turn up from TD for the 5e still. The block, crank and head are with rob Barnard now who will be building the engine, I'd be hoping to get it back mid July and fitted by the end of July.

Got a few goodies turn up in the mean time...

Apexi Powerfc... The EMB would have been out of its limits with the injectors I'm playing to use

And a fensport crank pulley as the old one chipped into a million pieces!!

After the longest wait ever i finally got my bits back from the polisher! I got a few bits welded while it was there but it should brighten up the bay a bit 😎

And the rest of the part for the 5e. Oil & water pump. Gasket set. Timing belt kit and x5 oil filters

Not a great deal has been done lately but the engine has been with rob for 3 weeks now so I'd be hoping to get that back within a couple of weeks!

Purchased a few more parts...

Purple rad hoses as I had to sacrifice my bottom hoses for my daily

07E9A048-E0B9-4EB7-9BA8-8FEF9C6D3569_zps

Picked up another FPR cheap as mine had a cracked glass & I think the black will suit the bay better than blue

CCB08D10-05AD-43A7-AEA7-D93B13355B02_zps

And got myself a OEM rear strut brace

C0AFF4FD-9132-4B39-A612-09BAFE279B7F_zps

I need to crack on really over the next couple of weeks...

Remove ABS

Paint engine bay

Fit saxo pump & lines

Fit x4 CV boots

Swap wings over

Get bumper sprayed

Fit skirts

Fit gauges into dash and get it flocked

Fit seats

My manager thought he could sneak these on the scrap tyre pile without me seeing 😂

20E95579-2F4C-4007-95CE-0667119CA0C9_zps

I'll put these on my spare set of wheels and use them if I do any track days!

There's 2 215/50/15 and only one 205/50/15 atm... He said he'd have a look to see if he could find the other one tonight 👍

Finally I have some much overdue updates! 😄

New engine & gearbox bushes

CCC4C2C7-3526-4866-88DF-7B0711F972E8_zps

Got myself a filter kit for the td04, that should do a better job than the mesh I had before!

C1B0D522-A838-42D0-A3EA-49C0A493823B_zps

I got rid of the old bushes out the mounts, cleaned them up and gave them a lick of paint before fitting the new bushes

843DE649-BD58-4E07-8407-5A9EB8D61D51_zps

Now the peice I'm most pleased with... Carbon fibre bonnet 😄 It's recently been re-lacquered so it should be good to go on straight away

C4F931A7-39F7-44B1-9083-25C315462DF7_zps

Next I thought I'd respray the engine bay while the engine was away being built. So I began to strip everything out and most importantly ditch the horrible abs!

0100A662-E392-4087-8F1E-5A71F3E4B696_zps

I got lots of other stuff painted while it was off too, scuttle panel, wiper arms, various brackets, servo & wiper motor

I had to drop some more bits down to rob to finish the engine off and I came just in time to get some photos!

Forged Pistons & rods fitted! He balanced the crank, pulley, flywheel and clutch and rebuild the head to standard spec. A full engine spec list will follow!

Fitted the engine mounting bracket, timing belt cover and alternator

I then fitted the injectors which rob had cleaned, rebuilt and flow tested along with the polished fuel rail

I also paired the engine with the gearbox and my dad fashioned some brackets so it could be wheeled around on a dolly until it was ready to back into the car

I hear alot of people tell me stuff... Im going to do this. Im going to do that... Then i see a breaking thread or the car go up for sale...

However...

Your persistence on this weapon is truly stunning and its quickly becoming a work of art!

Keep up the hard work lad! Jealous I parted with it now!

Thanks for the kind words! Yeh I'd imagine quite a few people would have loved to see it stay a sleeper too but I couldn't resist, I love the look of a Glanza

Haha thanks Matt! Yeh I have to admit I did feel like giving up earlier in the year, didn't realise how much work was really involved. But having the engine back now I've got a new love for it and can't wait to be driving it again!

It'll look lovely once the full conversion is sorted mate and like is said it'll still be a sleeper- power wise and handling

I managed to get a few things done today, I started by fitting the brake reservoir and most of the abs delete kit which I also painted purple as I didn't think the copper would go too well 😂

Unfortunately I forgot to do the union so I'll have to take that off tomorrow!

2311D221-4B33-4B66-BB9B-8EABFA09EC72_zps

Got all the vac and water pipes in too, and the transfer box bracket in place

And now the reason why my shinny rocker cover isn't fitted...

Thanks Calum, appreciate that!

Unfortunately I haven't managed to get the engine in just yet due to working every weekend but I have begun to tidy up the loom in the engine bay and mock up my PAS set up.

Also sent my turbo off to Liam for a rebuild and I was over the moon with there service! He removed the internal waste gate and swapped the housing over for one he had lying around 😊
