They are pretty strong.

Shaved of 1mm on pistons, installed china td40 turbo and ran 1,1 bar.

Think is is pretty cool.

Could you use a thicker headgasket instead of skimming the pistons?

Just means you dont have the pistons out the engine was my thinking.

thats good effort mate i have bean turboing 4efe egine for years now only ever had 1 original 4efte and that i blew ha ha gen1 4efe rods are strong

I was turboing 4efe's 12 years ago on stock compression lol

Mines is stock compression aswell, which i believe is 9.6 - 1 its a Gen1 JDM so i'm hoping it holds up ok

We ran 0,8 a few times on stock compression. But her we cant adjust timing, so need to lower compression

Why not adjust base timing via dizzy? Or use the ignition setup from a carbbed engine with the advance and reverse it so it retards as you go up the revs
