Socks
I was stripping a dog of Starlet GT Turbo that had a blown engine this weekend, and I lifted the carpet to see something I've never seen before in a GT or a Glanza for that matter.Excuse the pics, low light conditions and the car was a fucking disgrace, thumbs DOWN to the previous owner! Ever wondered what the gaps were in those strengthening beams...? Follow the ducting back.... They attach the the bottom of the heater box.... The carpet is simply cut out under the seats by Toyota..... So they are rear interior heater/coolers?Wasn't aware of this at all? Anyone else seen this before?

bucketep91
My Glanza had these too. That was a snow edition. Not on any of my other starlets tho
Socks
Interesting chaps Is there any other signs its a snow spec fucker ? foglights are stock. Starter Motor is different tho... Not sure about alternator... What else should I be looking for!
daniel_g
Got a feeling the rad was thicker on snow editions. A lot can be changed from factory though so anyones guess.
Socks
it had a civic rad on it so couldnt tell u on that one!
fiddlersport
seen this a few times on gt and glanza...
Socks
The Plot thickens... This same GT had a much much much bigger starter motor & different/heavier alternator.... Ontop of that, the heater matrix was huge, compared to stock... Stock: Out of this GT: Way Way Way bigger/thicker. To give better heating...My friend adam disagrees this is a winter model due to it not having yellow foglights... However one foglight was new, and one was old. No idea if they were original or not. Not do we know if the radiator was thicker as like i said it had a civic one on it.... Unsure at what point a starlet becomes a "Winter" model...
daniel_g
Shall we put it in writing that its a snow edition thing then ?
aaddzz123
My friend adam disagrees this is a winter model due to it not having yellow foglights... And headlights, no badge on the back. Nob haha. Plus my mk1 was a snow edition and that didn't have them!
daniel_g
What if the heater is an option on the snow editions ? Along with the yellow tints on the fogs and headlights. If its got the bigger starter and alternator then its got to be a snow edition. The standard radiators are thicker aswell. I reckon thats the basic snow edition (with the large matrix aswell possibly) and the rest is spec'd up afterwards.
bucketep91
Snow editions never came with yellow lights did they? Mine didn't.Mines had a sticker on the underside of the bonnet, and there was brackets in the boot for tyre chains as well as the thicker rad, beefier starter etc.
