alexjt18
Hi all, as some may remember I did start a thread last year but to my disappointment I never actually got the Starlet. But this should be different. I now have been given it, a 1998 Starlet Solida and have no idea what to really do to it as I have an extremely low budget. So far I have got a VW Golf splitter that I need to cut to size. But that's about it Please reply with any possible ideas I can do. Thanks Edited July 8, 2015 by alexjt18
JoJo_228
Yay!Lower and nice alloys ? That's all I've done to my n/a as my budget is tighter than a ducks backside !
alexjt18
I highly doubt I'll afford alloys, I do have some slightly bigger steelies that would fit but only three !

alexjt18
I will do, I'm not thinking of performance enhancing mods yet just making it look nicer and fix little problems that it has. funny onion
Save up some pennies and keep your eye out for some speedlines or team dynamics or something, they usually go pretty cheap.
alexjt18
I think I may need a job then !
Rich-k
Speedlines will be your best mate! They come standard on the SR starlet
bdohohh
Even a set of t sport alloys from a yaris can usually be found pretty cheapish and just finishes the car off a little better than steels Dont impulse buy is the best advice, I'm the worst for it and it gets me in tricky situations. Plan what you want/can afford and stick to that!

alexjt18
One of the cheaper ideas that I was thinking of is to clean up and paint the engine bay, any colour recommendations ? (I know that you have to get VHT paint )
bdohohh
What colour is the car?

alexjt18
The car is blueish silver and I was thinking about painting parts in the bay.
funny onion
Yeah you could paint some parts like rocker cover, get a glanza or GT front strut brace- that will improve the front end and you can paint that to match etc white would look good on blueish silver
bdohohh
You've got a lot of possibilities with silver! But yeah rocker cover would look good painted plus maybe some hoses and stuff to get it all matching.
GavinsBeard
Keep looking on eBay for wheels, i picked up a nice set of BK Racing wheels for £150 in pretty good conditions with brand new tyres on there... I'va had them refurbed but i think they were a bargin Edited January 29, 2015 by GavinsBeard
Rich-k
Not the worst looking set of wheels and its local to you, you could ask some one to pick them up! 45 quid if you dont have to include postage!!!http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/121549943833?nav=SEARCH
alexjt18
First thing I need to do is acquire a battery to be completely sure that just the battery is dead and not the alternator or starter, then the mods will begin ! (Hopefully)
