ashep91
So its been a while since I've updated i have brought a few bits and bobs firstly i needed to sort the edu out as i had to with all the uprated modifications so this turned up in the post so one weekend me and my mate got to try fitting the standalone ecu in as neither one of us are mechanics all the information was sourced on this forum to see how fitting was done we fed the wires through the grommet into the glove box i had to send my mate in the car as am too tall to get down in the small space lol
ashep91
We finally got the edu in the glove box securely and fixed the hand commander The keen eyed people would have spotted a tial wastegate behind the standalone ecu after much debating i decided to go today billet hybrid from the man WEPR and tis went in next big thanks to local starlet guy Jim who doesn't own one now but really helped me out First came out the piping etc Then finally came out the ct. turbo after much pushing and pulling Finally In with the new turbo kit I decided i needed some different alloys so went for some rota grid v with ad88 tyres along with this i changed the rear lights to 98 spec A few shots with the new wheels outside After giving the car a full service and running for a while off we went for the cars first mapping session The car was brilliant it pulled around 220bhp at 1bar boost i didn't want to push it much more on stock internals i was very pleased with the car it went like a rocket and was plenty fast for me at the moment. The gut who mapped it ran various tests on the engine before hand and commented on the excellent health of compression etc which i was also very pleased with. It was all going well and then this happened In my excitement of the newly mapped car i went for a sprint run down the A roads after opening the bonnet to show my brother i forgot to put the bonnet pins back on which resulted in the bonnet ripping straight off luckily there was none behind but the hinges had been bent back bonnet holes were massive and wing damage i was gutted. ashep91
I parked the car up and had a few things i wanted to sort out one being on the dyno the car clutch kept slipping so i knew i had to put in a better uprated one also with the increase in power i wanted to put in a lsd to help with handling although it was very good just something extra so i brought a stage 3 clutch from ID WORKZ just to cover myself for future power increase and a quaff lsd with toyota bearings. I then went about keeping the car at the same power but getting to that power faster so i decided to give disco a call and this came in the post Full race spec head minus the cams shouldn't increase the power too much but will definatly get it to maximum power and spool faster

Gainzy
Did you send the head away? What cams are you going for and how much did it cost? I fancied mine ported but I don't think it's worth it...
