turbominicooper
so im making a budget JAM manifold and have been grinding out the middle. would people say this is enough or keep going until its totally flat?
ste91
Looks like all you've done there is removed the divider which if anythng will have made it worse, the idea of porting the standard manifold is to remove the restrictions in the runners.
5e colin
now turn that bich over on her knees and look in hole nr 2 and 3 ha ha there is in both runners 2 lumps that need grinding down 1/2 lump in nr2 and a big massive lump in nr 3 !!!!
turbominicooper
Looks like all you've done there is removed the divider which if anythng will have made it worse really, my stainless one has no restrictions now turn that bich over on her knees and look in hole nr 2 and 3 ha ha there is in both runners 2 lumps that need grinding down 1/2 lump in nr2 and a big massive lump in nr 3 !!!! i will get on it chief. cheers
_shaun_
aye the restrictions are in the ports them self the collector really gives no issues at all. ive never done it myself but from what i understand its a tedious job
Ryan_EP82 GT
Stock up on grinding stones..pain in the hole but obviously worth it
akyakapotter
That what you want to see thats my jam mani I have sat in my shed Edited March 18, 2015 by akyakapotter
mikey4410
yeah what u have done there is ruin the + piece of the mani.that causes nothing but wicked flow to the turbo and aid spool.the bit you needed to do is the restriction in the third port.
Gainzy
No matter how much you port it the JAM mani's ports are bigger to start with.
akyakapotter
Your right there pics show that
Matt1878
I would just buy Akyakapotter's jam manifold off him and put the grinder down.. Really you shouldn't have touched that side of the manifold. The restrictions are on the other side. You will never be able to getnthe stock manifold half as good as the JAM one without spending one hell of a long time doing so.... Make him an offer ;)
5e colin
turbominicooper dont worry about the + its gone and opened up the hole wish is better less restriction ( look at any other aftermarket mani they dont have it flush either ) its just on smaaal shitty ct9s wont make much diference dont worry about all that flow crap the turbo just sucks it out
turbominicooper
gggrrrr honestly thought the + was the restriction - what a noob. ill revisit the ports and see what its like after.

5e colin
sure it is !!! the 4 , 1/4 holes on the + are more restrictive then the loube in nr 3 runner i can barely stick my pink in there ( stock unported )i got more performance out of it be deleting the + thats for sure Edited March 19, 2015 by 5e colin

And you are wrong about "heat congestion" whatever that is, you want to keep the exhaust gas hot (to a certain extent) as hot gas moves faster.
5e colin
the ass dyno never lies it works ha ha ^^^^^ you do know that because the restrikted + the cracks apear over time and they al start on the + because of the + extra heat is there that is not needed
