Quad Lights Conversion on GT guide

As i was doing my Quads conversion, had a Tutorial along.

quads-1.jpg

Unscrew the grill and bumper

quads-2.jpg

quads-3.jpg

Take off the crash bar, easier to work with.

quads-4.jpg

Unscrew the lamp off the brackets.

quads-5.jpg

quads-6.jpg

Cut out all the RED area, inorder for the quads to fit, as they are much more bigger than the square lamps.

quads-10.jpg

I use drill and hack saw, easier with air saw or some sort.

quads-7.jpg

quads-8.jpg

quads-9.jpg

quads-11.jpg

The brackets holding the lamps needs to be cut as pictured, but you can always get the brackets for the quads, save you cutting and holds better. as mines not that steady.

quads-12.jpg

After modding the brackets and fitted.

quads-13.jpg

Made my own brackets holding on the lamps, as i only have one at the top, you better to have one at top and one at bottom.

quads-14.jpg

quads-15.jpg

Now drill as the pic shows, so you can screw the lamp in place.

quads-16.jpg

Testing with the grill in:

quads-17.jpg

Wiring the bulbs as so

quads-18.jpg

Here is a Wiring diagram i made:

quads-wiring-dia.jpg

As its a conversion, you cannot have all beams to come on at the same time, only side lights can be on all times with either main or hi. Cannot have main and hi on together.

After all fitted

quads-19.jpg

quads-20.jpg

all.jpg

Extra info:

High beam - HB4 / 9006

Main beam - HB3 / 9005

you may need to mod new bulbs, as the wings on the bulbs are bigger.

as what i've done to my HID bulbs on the pic.

The left bulb has been cut on the wings, as the right one has big wings on them.

HID-3.jpg

I done alot of research before i done this conversion. Alot of help from members on TGTT, so credit to them all - OllyGTIR, Starlet_GTTurbo_Bristol, rameshsingh13, people who i forgot to mention, thank you!

How to change coolant guide

Most of you know how to do it anyway, Since i have taken pics of while i was changing the coolant, heres a guide to help some out.

First take off the splash guard under the drive side.

coolant-1.jpg

As picture, white plastic screw at the bottom of the rad. It can be unscrew by hand. Soon its unscrew the coolant should come out. Make sure you have some sort of bucket to catch the old coolants.

coolant-2.jpg

Now open the rad cap at the top, anti-clockwise. so the coolant should rush out like the tap.

coolant-3.jpg

After all drained out, i use a water hose and run it though the rad, to clean out all the dirty and rust.

coolant-4.jpg

I even drained out the old coolant from the bottle. As mine was very very dirty.

coolant-5.jpg

now pu; in the new coolant, should get the RED stuff coolant from toyota, as everyone recommend it.

coolant-6.jpg

coolant-7.jpg

Now screw back in the white plastic screw tight. than pull the coolant into the top of the rad.

coolant-8.jpg

Start the engine, wait about 10mins till the fan comes on, let all the air out the rad, fill it up if needed to. When all the air is out.

coolant-9.jpg

Than you can put the rad cap back on.

coolant-10.jpg

Job done, simple as!!

Hope this helped.

How to Fit a JAM FCC on MAP Sensor

Ok as many of you connect your JAM FCC onto the ecu, as i have done, but it didn't work as it should, so i connected it to the MAP Sensor.

1st, unplug the Map sensor, theres 3 wires

DSC01239.jpg

Cut the middle wire, not too near the plug, as you will need to use most of the wire for connection.

DSC01240.jpg

On the JAM FCC there 4 wires,

RED = 12v live - Conneted to the IGNition behind the key switch.

BLACK = Earth - Connected to the nut holding the MAP sensor.

WHITE - Connect it to the wire coming out from the MAP sensor.

GREEN - Connect it to the other half on the cut wire.

Make sure the White and Green wires are connected to the right place. Or your car will start up funny.

DSC01246.jpg

Get some strong 2 side tape, stick the unit on the wall. Job done

DSC01250.jpg

Hope this helped :p

FMIC

I got the WEPR Pipings, with a 700mmx280mmx65mm FMIC.

I think the smaller the cooler is, last of lag you get.

This is what the front & engine bay looks like, before the FMIC went in.

After putting the WEPR pipes in

Now the cooler

DSC01211.jpg

DSC01214.jpg

As the scoop on the bonnet no use any more, i put 2 tubes where the scoop is, directing it to the aor filter for more cooler air.

As i was doing the FMIC, i relocat the air filter behind those lights. Which i had to relocat the battery as well.

Fuel Pump

After had the fuel pump fitted yesterday. Car now run much smoother, good upgrade.

Under the rear site, fuel tank cover. Unplug the harness and 3 screw to be removed, lid comes off.

DSC00002.jpg

Than 3 fuel lines to be disconnect.

DSC00001.jpg

Than by holding on the fuel lines and take the whole unit out of the tank slowly.

DSC00003.jpg

DSC00006.jpg

Walbro pump is a bit bigger than the standard one.

DSC00007.jpg

Now you have to cut the 2 wires goind to the standard pump, Blue=+ & Black=- . and connect the plug that comes with the kit Red=+ & Black=-.

DSC00010-1.jpg

Put everything back together, because the pump its abit bigger, it will just fit in. and use the old filter and not the new one as the new one is too big and the tank aint got enough space for it.
