akyakapotter
Talk to your tuner they will advise the best ecu that they use will be a standalone though
gorganl2000
will be whatever your tuner and your budget allows
BenBoxall23
My builder is recommending a Apexi Power FC, just wanted a second opinion. What does everyone think of these?
daniel_g
My builder is recommending a Apexi Power FC, just wanted a second opinion. What does everyone think of these?Bit old skool these days but still do the job
Socks
Will limit you to the old ignition system which is going to struggle at 370-400bhp. With high boost. Power FC can comfortably get you in the mid 300s tho
BenBoxall23
Thanks for your responces, any other options?
AdamB
Haltech, Link, DTA, OMEX, Emerald, Motec, Syvecs. If you're feeling really plush how about a Pectel? You need to specify a budget, you can spend upto about £12000 on a management system.
BenBoxall23
Its only going to be a fast road car, cant imagine i'd need a 12k system.
Phil
Fast road link atom G4+Racing/time attack etc Link storm G4+Phil
AdamB
Link, Haltech, DTA, OMEX will do nicely. A power FC will also do the job, but as has already been mentioned, their ancient, so don't expect much in the way of features.
BenBoxall23
Ok thanks guys
ROTABOOST
Mine is having Link G4+ Storm fitted at the moment, going over to coil on plug setup too. Personally I've not heard a bad thing about link and 2 of my mates run them with no issues at all, 1 on a skyline and the other on a glanza
Stu
I have been installing Link ecu's for 14+ years and fully recommend them. Solid and very reliable. The G4+ platform is going from strength to strength too, the current firmware and tuning software is fantastic.
RobSR
Link ecu's are very good like mentioned. Would have one over a Power FC 10x over. PFC's now are pretty cack.
AdamB
Another one I forget to mention is the AEM, they've come up in the world, and a lot of people are starting to use them.
Stu
Depending on your budget (and finding a competent tuner who has experience with them) there's quite a few that are pretty good. Link is still my preference but the Motec M1 series are awesome and the latest offerings from Haltech and AEM are also pretty rad. If you really wanted you could make 350-400hp on just about any ecu but its how easy it is to setup and reliable the tune is that matters. Newer ecu's have alot more scope for advanced variables with overlay maps and fail safes etc that can give you a lot more piece of mind.
