Starletraje
Yeah, went to the scrapyard today to try get a new suspension strut and this happens.Pull up at a roundabout, and a few seconds later somebody hits me.Doesn't look bad but theres some damage to the chassis. The boot doesn't close properly.A good exaple of how hard i was hit is the spare wheel has bent the bolt that holds it in place. Then the day just took another crap on me. realised i had lost a hub cap when i got home.I'm gutted as this looks like a write off. Bugger.

StarletRick
is there chassis damage? thats what will make or break (no pun intended) the decision.

Starletraje
Afraid this is the end of my starlet, been quoted £1500 - £2000. I paid £1000 for the car so i guess its bye bye starlet. Some quite major structural damage as i thought, needs pulled out, new rear light, new parcel shelf, rear bumper, boot door, rear bar, Interior trim and work to the boot floor. It sucks, its only got 50k on the clock and runs like a dream, i've put loads of hours into the car for it to be taken by a woman with short attention and a heavy gas foot. There is still a chance it will be repaired, stranger things have happened (I seen someone hugging a door at college today) but its not likely.I wonder what the chances are of the insurance company letting me keep hold of the car for "non road use" are. my grandad told me he was allowed to keep his write-off, anyone else heard of this? StarletRick
if theres no chassis damage, youll be fine. get pics of the chassis and boot floor.

badboy_lesta
Put a good enough claim in and then you can get your self a Nice Fresh Import Glanza. Lower back pains by any chance over night?
Starletraje
Put a good enough claim in and then you can get your self a Nice Fresh Import Glanza. Lower back pains by any chance over night? Lol... probably gonna move from the humble starlet for a bit, at least till the claim is settled and my insurance cost comes down, then buy a glanza. i am possibly looking to buy a civic for now. but since im gonna have to carry my policy over, i have to use the details i have on the current policy, which shows me with a license for 7 months. still gonna be sad to see my starbo go. been good. but still... the claims handler says it should take 10-12 weeks to settle a claim, which means i can still use it till then.
